Trial of the Magians seems to be a system to lessen the blow to the current top gear sets and prolong their life. In time the top gear sets may be a mix of the old and the new.

Imo they won't upper the skill cap, or make pdif affected per level > 75. It's just another way to grind in order to be able to equip new armors or get new spells / ja. I don't see them giving to monks a free 12 dmg while giving nothing to others. It will be a fake level 99. You will be essentiallly level 75 with new ability/spells/armors etc.

whats sad is as soon as the update goes in they are giving PUP A in H2H, so with their Fey weapon they will break 300 H2H skill.

It make not make it all obsolete but possible some currently situational gear will be replaced by newer situational gear. It could just mean more situational gear and more strained inventory.

I can't believe how big the jump in inventory space seemed when satchel came out. But now it seems like nowhere near enough.
