MY HANDICAP: GOING OUTSIDE
c'mon i had to be the first one to say it
Your handicap: believing RL matters.

Don't forget paladin.
Not everyone can use a schedule. Some of us have calendars that revolve around other IRL issues, thus we have no way to do scheduled events like Dynamis and einherjar.
Because of this, players like this, my dad for example works on the rigs and has no way to know what days hes able to play and what he cant, can onyl do solo stuff by themselves when they're on, and low man things with close friends if they happen to be on.
Because of this, it doesnt matter how pro you are at managing time if you don't have enough time period.
Some people would love nothing more than koenig's, a ridill, etc, but they just don't have the time. And it kinda makes me feel bad seeing people like that, putting years of effort into ffxi only to be reduced to "whelp, only one friend on... Guess I'll go level my dragoon solo for 2 hours again, maybe there'll actually be a party on and I can get an invite..."
People who only have time to do things solo shouldn't be playing a MMORPG
I disagree with this because a lot of it is down to pure luck. Take KC for example, someone could do BC60 100 times and not get drop but someone else could do it once and get the drop.
There is also the fact that many rich people got that way by being in a leader position and exploiting their linkshell out of gil/drops/currency etc.
On top of that, there's RMT.
In my opinion having more money means:
10% of the time, you're harder working than everyone else.
40% of the time, you're luckier than everyone else.
50% of the time, you're an asshole.
I lol'd.
This all applies ingame as much as it does in the real world..
The dream of capitalism is just that, a dream. True wealth is down to opportunity and exploitation.
There's a reason the asshole types get to be in the position of taking it all: they work harder. They set the events, the do the planning, the drag the sheep along by the leash. I'd like to hope there aren't that many people who are so stupid as to not understand where they fall in the food chain when they enter a ls and do nothing but provide another body.
The followers know the deal they're getting into. They get lesser end of the deal, but in exchange they just show up for the event, follow directions, and warp out at the end. If they moved beyond wanting to the be the ones with relics and krakens to the point of putting in that effort to run the show themselves, they'd get it.
The game's not designed to make everyone equal, you can sit around doing random crap hoping to get lucky or you can put in real time/effort. I don't understand why people bitch about it instead of taking initiative.
Yes since we all know time and effort pay off in FFXI, not dumb luck or random ass drop rates, and there aren't tons of people who do events day in and day out and are regularly screwed on no drops.
My point is people who work their ass off still get screwed all the time.
not that whiny people need to work more, cause they do.
and just because you're in a position of power doesn't mean you got to be a grand prick no one likes.
Getting relics and K-clubs is easy, just need two things.
Bots
Time
A lot of people don't lead because they don't have the time, not because they can't.
You forgot patience! How's carby?![]()
Exploiting ? if people are dumb it's not an exploitation. Also I doubt you can do good money with dumb people.
Sounds like you are poor. If you are poor that's because you suck. Being lucky (kclub ...) will obviously concern much less than 40% of everyone. In my opinion having more money means:
10% of the time, you're harder working than everyone else.
40% of the time, you're luckier than everyone else.
50% of the time, you're an asshole.
