Hey don't call me a bandwagon. I do reserach D:
lol my choices 1 year ago was pup vs nin and everyone told me to lv nin. Good thing I didn't listen.
Holy hell this is shaping up to be the biggest win update since tier2 stuff and the overhauls to sky/sea a few years ago! O.O
monk gets hate with damage not with JA. why the fuck would you use PDT on monk, there is a reason why you sub nin. PDT= less damage= less hate. Pup will be able to tank now because they will be able to actually do some damage.
also idk if its been told but they showed a pic on the live stream when they talked about RDM updates: it showed graviga.
I have a boner.
He got these on his first try allegedly

It pissed me off reading this paragraph when it's immediately followed by this:Up until now, most job adjustments have been implemented with ease of party-forming in mind. From this point onwards, we plan to shift the focus towards ease of participation in endgame content. The role of each job will also come under review.
How on earth is this new HQ crap going to make BST more attractive to endgame LS? None of the previous BST adjustments has any impact on party play either. To make things worse, BST is now officially the worst job ever created in the history of FFXI. PUP, another pet job which was introduced at least 3 years later than BST, will have a much more powerful/versatile pet and higher weaponskill cap than BST. Not to mention the best mythic weapon and shit load of endgame stuffs (PUP + Usukane vs BST + Skadi, aug. weapon, shenlong etc).[ Beastmaster ] The following changes will be made to enhance the usability of the job ability “Call Beast”:
- New synergy recipes for the creation of consumable items required to perform the ability will be with a higher rate of yield for HQ items.
- Certain ingredients needed to synthesize/synergize the items will become more readily obtainable.
Please tell me what exactly do SE expect BST to contribute in endgame content??Our goal is to achieve—without sacrificing the uniqueness of each job—greater ease of participation in endgame content and provide the opportunity for all participants to contribute equally.
One final lesson I've learnt from the past few updates is that SE will give anything to a job if enough requests have been made. PUP get rank A h2h, automaton tweak. BST get Sic II, more stupid HQ recipes. I only wish the BST community had the wisdom to deamand the right stuffs and for the love of god please stop asking for another stupid BST buff that nobody cares except some stubborn "BST must solo" idiots who refuse to admit there are million jobs in this game that can solo better than BST.The scope of our vision for job adjustments does not stop there, however. Maintaining battle balance remains one of our highest priorities. As such, we intend to conduct reviews on an ongoing basis and introduce new equipment and adjust weapon skills as necessary. It is anticipated that the level cap increase will impact the balance of certain elements more than others. We will keep a close watch on these areas and, if the situation demands, review and reconsider even the adjustments that have been announced.
I'm kind of hoping that BST might get an A skill in Sycthe... or Great Axe.
Man can dream no? :3
Edit: But yea I kind of rolled my eyes at what SE has in store for BST.
Man.. I can only imagine how hard a Wyvern is going to smack someone in ballista matches. They hit hard enough as it was on EM targets, but damn.
They've always had fair accuracy on HNMs, so we'll see if this adjustment takes them out of single digits per hit.
And as for Taruking? I'm laughing at your final statement. SE rarely listens to the playerbase, no matter how much they bitch. AV anyone? SE simply has no idea what to do with beastmaster, so they constantly give it shit upgrades. They still believe that somehow, beastmaster could become broken if buffed too highly.
Yes, they are absolutely foolish, but I simply had to refute your silly statement.
AV is the worst example you can use. SE made a video to show players how to fight AV, highlighted all the important facts, even made AV spawn 100% of the time. It's not like they have never bothered to make an effort. It still took the playerbase 1 year to figure out the way to lock AV 2hr (without using bot) is exactly like what was shown in the video. Do you really expect them to hand you AV's secret on a silver platter?
There are ton of ways to improve BST:
1) Buff damage output
2) Unique, highly desirable JAs (Angon, feint, TH)
3) Zerg ability
SE just need to pick one from the list. They have done the same thing to every sinlge melee job EXCEPT BST. How hard is it for the developers to realise no one invites BST to merit party or endgame events because the job sucks? They gave BST everything they asked for - Sic II, more HQ jugpets, longer duration, Beast affinity. The BST community are simply too dumb to ask for the right things.
I suggest you visit BST forum on Allakazham, it will enlighten you on the topic.
I know Allah are fools - I used to post there long, long ago, during the initial wave of drg hatred. I also know that SE doesn't implement everything people ask for, or else Jubaku: Ni would have been here years ago. Its even in the files; they've just been sitting on it for eons.
SE implements what they want to implement. The player-base can give them all the ideas they want: they aren't some company that communicates with their players on why or why not - they simply roll along and put out what content they want.
If they are looking at what we suggest (and they most certainly are), they aren't following all of it, and mostly with good reason - some ideas are entirely stupid. But others have merit, and instead of communicating with players on the haves and have nots, they simply choose to follow their own path. How romanticist of them.
I know bst is broken - I've known since 04 when I tried to play it, and threw my hands up in frustration, never to touch it again. I was there for all of the scorn and the lies and the slander against bst, before the XP penalty removal and everything else.
Bst probably won't ever be fixed. That's just the way SE rolls. Its a roll of the dice as to if your job gets fixed. I can tell you this, though: if Bst was some job that followed Japanese mythology, you'd see it as some epic demon-slaying force like Sam is. SE never fails in buffing the shit out of their "home nation" jobs.
