I heard that Valefor also uses a Dynamis calendar (it's pretty well followed on Kujata). I hope that's true. Not that people fight us for CoP zones very often (though we're trying to get an attestation atm).

Yeah, Valefor has a Dynamis calendar that the organized shells use. http://ffxi-dynamis.de/index.php?section=monthview However, there have been shout shells lately that don't bother looking and do snipe zones. :/

Hopefully it wont be worse after the merge. And I think March should be interesting as most shells have already blocked out the month.

I'm wondering if they are merging servers so that they can use the existing server-space solely for making dynamis (and possibly the new events, Abyssea or w/e) instance-able.

It is entirely possible, though I *crosses fingers* hope that they are not trying to recycle old ffxi server space for FFIV in an attempt to save money.

No, server transfers and character reactivations end on Tuesday. They'll probably do the merges one by one starting sometime between the 9th and the version update, unless they can somehow do them all at once during the version update.

They said they are doing the transfers right after the version update. So the version update and transfers are being done on the same day. Just not sure when the version update is. I hear reports of March 23rd, and March 11th, and now I think it's the 9th because of this. I'm so confused.

Only like 3-4 shells use the calander. My shell does not, since we are a HNM shell we dont follow a exact schedule and do dynamis when we have time. We are in no way about sniping zones from other LSs but if it becomes crowded and other leaders dont wanna come to a resonable solution then so be it. Most Dyna leaders are willing to come to a solution thou which is nice.

When they did the optional world shifts off overcrowded servers didn't they do it all en-masse during a general version update?

I remember when they first opened Remora a long ass time ago. You talked to an NPC if you wanted to switch, then the day of the transfer, they did it instantly. It was 2 other servers on the same day too, so I don't think doing them all on the same day is really an issue.
