There is a lot of clamer tracks amongst those 70, quite a few actually.
Gustaberg was a frikkin horrible track though :S
You have to remember that the game's story concept is completely different as well. As such, you can't really expect the same music style as a whole. However, a few calmer pieces are definitely in the OST.
Thanks trixi for the OST *thumbs up!

don't know how anyone could call gustaberg theme bad.
Thanks Seph. gave me something to put on my player for the day.
I like Uematsu. His style has changed considerably and you can really feel the 80s synth rock vibes that are predominant in TBM. Yet at the same time, you can feel a mishmash of his other styles at work. I find many touches of his ambient style from FFVIII coming back here, as well as his signature fanfarey march songs, which are nice.
Some tracks may seem weird but a lot of it has to do with the context that it's being used and we're still in the dark about that. It's like when FFXI's OST came out and people were saying how certain tracks like Sometime Somewhere didn't seem to fit in.. but somehow it's being used in most cutscenes lol, or how it had stripper music.. altho that ended up being used for female race creation.
What pleases me most is that all 4 signature FF themes are clearly present, even this early into the game (which is actually late in terms of music development).. The Prelude, Theme of Final Fantasy, Victory Fanfare and Chocobo Theme, all in their full glory.
anyway gogo the person with char models.
Gustaberg is an awesome theme, imho.. tho the one in the past is slightly better.
3B: Intro?
3C+3E sounds like Ul'Dah. Very middle-eastern style.
4B: Limsa Lominsa?
And as someone posted earlier, 33 must be Lalafell related.
3C and 3E sound more like dunesfolk theme's.
26 is one of my favouite tracks, maybe Gridania ? (maybe the area outside, reminds me of Sarutabaruta music)
This music is blowing me away, with the combination of nostalgic catchiness (getting a FF8 vibe) and the brilliantly done vocals (that yes are so good I question their legitimacy).
1/4 of the way through them so far these are my favs: 13, 15, 18, 1B
And the two vocals, 1D, 1E (that are the same, mistake while ripping?)
nice picks..
i like those too.
18 kinda reminds you a bit of an orchestrated Maybe I'm a Lion doesnt it? until it breaks into electric guitar.
Yes 18 is good. However, I don't see where it could be used other than as yet another battle song...? I hope songs like these won't be used while you are wandering around in a peaceful forest, would really ruin the calm.
Darn am want music for work D:
Judging from the skill lists that has been posted on the internet, it really strikes me how some class are a perfect fusion of two FFXI ones.
One look at Conjurer and it's basically BLM+RDM.
At first I felt I really dislike that because I wasnt seeing any point in doing this. but then I remembered (unless I'm wrong) that each character will have a certain set of skills equipped at a given moment.
So what they're doing could be using WoW talent specs as a starting point for a whole new system:
To sum things up, you level a Conjurer and grab skills belonging to two different FF11 classes (and so, different playstyles and battle roles) and then you pick, battle after battle, what "spec" it's better for you. Now you're a "BLM" nuker, now you're a "RDM" enfleebler/crowd controller. It's twice the choices with the same amount of class grind.
Specific equipments could also enhance certain skills and visually turning you either into a BLM or a RDM.
Wishfull thinking!
Any dataminers monitoring this thread have any new news on lua scripting support?
Don't know what people were talking about with there being no peaceful tracks, from about halfway on that's about all they've been.
3C in particular has that Ronfaure/Gustaberg charm for me. I really like this track.
Also while crazy battle themes are easy to fall in love with instantly, it takes time for the slower ones to grow on you.
