Don't get too sad you didn't get in ladies and gents, i know it sucks and most of us probably won't get in this round, not the other way around. Seems to be that having an active account is the only requirment for this round of people accepted, I am not 100% obviously, but from the past posts the information in-common is if you got your email from about 7:45-8:00 thats it for today ...it seems. Your probably still playing ffxi if you got an invite for 1st round. I don't think i saw anyone get an email that isn't still in ffxi correct me if i am wrong :D?

that aside i am still personally spamming my email over and over just incase i am totally off! .......

i need rehab lulz.

Yes it's technically the alpha test, but since SE keeps referring to beta signups and the website being the "Beta Test Site", I think people end up jumbling the two terms.

There's been at least 3-4 people that have spoken publicly about it on this forum that canceled their accounts within the last 6+ months, so I really doubt having an active FFXI account was a factor so much as just being a player at some point was.

There was a post in the FFXI version of this thread of someone getting in who had recently deactivated their account, going to see if I can find it.

I'm not in but thinking that SE will try to ban you from beta if you talk about it then let me laugh.

I dont even think you imagine the amount of work SE would have to do to confront the people.
1. Write all the forum alias that said they got in (that means browsing 50-100 site (english, jp and eu websites).
2. Writing an email to all the admin of the forum, threating them to sue them if they dont give them the email corresponding to the alias they want.
3. Comparing all those email with the one that subscribe to FF14 and ban the character. Come on seriously lol.

I dont say if you post pics or vids but even that if you take care, photoshop a bit your pics and post on another email I dotn see what SE can do.

Been playing since US beta and I did not get in.

My friend who has only been playing for two years did get in.

Not in - playing since EU release, active SE account, stupidly high playtime.

So all in all - shunted onto the scrabble-score unspellable server, not in beta, having to level fucking crappy subjobs... my love for SE knows no bounds right now.

I am not saying any amount of time was a factor ..i guess i was wrong, it seems then that the MAJORITY of people are still active and the amount of time and or how "Hardcore/Loyal/Infatuated" you were in to FFXI is null n void in SE's decision making.

Seems a VERY low number of people were selected this round? maybe only doing one server for now... dunno.. I got on and have an active ffxi account, but haven't heard much else... my girlfriend had similar info to mine and didn't get on.

Yeah you guys are right. SE won't care. They never seem to value their secrets.

I mean Mythic was sort of vigilant with their NDA and LOTS of people did get banned for posting stuff on unofficial sites like Massively. But Square Enix is so chill, they won't care. I mean it's an almost 30 year old, dying franchise anyway.

Probably 90% of the people on BG have active accounts, and the majority of those probably have played for many years. This is an endgame board, after all. You can't infer anything about their beta selection process by just the BG posters, as we're all pretty much a specific subset of players.

I would be shocked if SE did anything other than pick systems at random based on the criteria they wanted to test, + hand out invites to the vanafest attendees.
