I am not seeing it. Can somebody get the exact quote about armor swapping? All I see is the following:
"There are a vast array of arms and tools in FINAL FANTASY XIV which allow players to assume the role of any of a number of classes. However, the following conditions should be kept in mind when changing equipment.
Equipping Arms – Players must be in passive mode and not engaged with an enemy.
Equipping Tools – Players must be in passive mode."
lolDuring play, there are times when characters may become unable to move in specific location. If trapped in this situation, please use Warp or Teleport. If this doesn't solve the issue, please login again or please create a new character.
Arms isn't a term that deals with just weaponry, it's a blanket term often used to cover any type of equipment needed or related to warfare.
Besides, what would lead you to believe they'd make a manual and just completely disregard any mention of armor? If both types of mentioned equipment are restricted to passive mode, why would anyone think that they'd just go and not mention something as important as armor being capable of being changed during combat?
Not all of us got to read the alpha manual
FWIW they have hinted in previous interviews that they wished to get rid of the need to change armour during battle, read into that as much as you want. (and no i'm not guna go looking for it)
They also hinted at no physical levels aswell though so who knows when it comes to SE.
I agree, most likely it will be different. But as anyone who has played FFXI knows, what SE says and does are two completely different things.
Remember when SE said new avatars for smn next update....and it took them 3-4 updates to add a new "2hr ability avatar". Or how they would reveal the way to defeat AV. Just saying.
Asked a friend who is playing right now. Trying to unequip the starting armor body piece while active mode was on (F) caused a "That action cannot be performed." message.
