They didn't in XI. I highly doubt they will in XIV, especially it being alpha/closed beta.

It was officially stated we would. Though they didn't specifically mention which stage of the beta we'd start being able to carry forward our names, but I think it's safe to assume we'd keep the names we're making now.

It makes no sense to wait for open beta, then everyone has an equal chance at a name and there's no point. May as well not let beta testers keep their name at all in that case.

so i got in, did the boat thing, did the first couple of intro cs's , got to the guildleve npc signed up for 3 of them, then talked to the miqote mithra whatever and crashed... havent been able to get in since... and for the love of god anyone organazing ff14 alpha testers on a vent?
