It's an Alpha, why are people surprised and shit about instability?

I think most people are surprised at that there is no stability what so ever - in that most if not almost all are having the same issue. Given that this isn't their first foray in cross-nation play and that it isn't their first MMO and being a very selective Alpha build where they control the influx of users directly you would think their would be quite at least a decent bit of stability especially for the JP client - but they had as many issues as the EU and NA clients did.
