The installer is just an installer, it gets its data from their servers. The data on their servers is new, just follow the instructions on the forums Home page

I think they said in one of the interviews there wasn't any death penalty yet besides the sickness, although they haven't ruled it out.

For now, no. There's only the 5 min weakness effect.

Thank GOD I just finished reading this thread, (Rant on) 1 thing to say that Kiliaioazeldafag is such a bitch. In the alpha you only get a rez weakened effect for a short amount of time. (5min) They said they will see how it works and there could be adjustments in the final release. But as of now you do not lose exp from being KO'd..

Hope there isn't xp loss upon death, but didn't they say there weapons would have durability?... I am wondering how much Gil will have to go into repairing weapons since the game is so weapon centered (For DoW classes anyways)

My parents decided to move house on Thursday so I missed all the info coming from the first alpha test. I'm on dial up until Thursday and I'm sure you can imagine the hell that would be trying to go through the past pages.

Remember Blacksmiths can also repair, I assume Blacksmithing will be the norm as a secondary for repairs. The only issue is if its easy / cheap then noone will blacksmith (for repairs anyway) or if its to hard / necessary then everyone will blacksmith. There is middle ground Im sure though Im not sure if SE knows of it .
