I'm thinking that stat redistribution might be done from an NPC with a cost. I read in one of the interviews they were talking about allowing you to add abilities from other classes into your current class (a bit weaker than if you were actually that class (similar to subjob)). If that was implemented then I would assume they wouldn't allow stat redistribution out in the field.

Adding abilities from other jobs seems like a way you could possibly make your own unique classes.

hopefully there will be a great sword fighter, or marauder will be able to use them. if i can do that i'm hoping to grab hp, mp, and tp drains and add in some lightning magic. (its always been my favorite element)

Well they have said you'll be able to use weaker forms of abilities you got from another class on a different one, though there will be class specific ones. Like if Cure isn't class specific I can't see a single person not getting it for themselves.

anyone know if they have potions in the alpha and how potent they are? I am hoping for some better/cheaper potions in this one. FF is known for it's cheap potions that I usually have 99 of sitting in the inventory. Give me some decent, inexpensive potions!

very true, but it seems as if every class gets some sort of self heal? maybe it wont be needed?

A little bird told me that there's some interesting stuff in the alpha forum rules, something about talking shit about another alpha tester. Single offence is not likely to affect anything, but if they're a repeat offender, and if enough people report those posts...who knows?

Reporting a post doesn't do much other than flag a mod to investigate. If they don't find anything, nothing will be done. I don't particularly remember reading anything with trash talk in it.

Then again, I tend to skim things.
