Still better than XI's system for potions.
Still better than XI's system for potions.
Hopefully they make all consumables on a whole a lot more useful.
Would also be nice if drinks stacked as well...
/whips out a bottle, a crystal and some fruit after a fight
/crafts some juice
/drinks juice
/prepares for battle
/rinse and repeat
They have said they want battles to be faster and for groups to roam around. Also it sounds like the crafting system is going to be a little more complex (from what I read it sounded like the EQ2 system; at least the early EQ2 system, god knows what it is like now) so you may not have much time between fights for crafting like in XI.
I also saw that you guys have 80 inventory slots already? Awesome. And it seems like we arent going to be poor and struggling for cash all the time.
Its because of obama.
Off topic; this drama is getting hilarious. Just when I thought it was cool that all of these longtime somewhat jaded XI players (I include myself in this pile btw, this isn't a derogatory statement ~.^) were starting to put aside the crap and get excited about something again... this has to happen lol. Sorry just read through the Cair stuff, etc. It's laughable. Ohnoes, the online police. Please people, don't you have to be at least 13 to play XI/XIV?
On topic: I would love it if consumables had a use other than the occasional "omg it's level capped bring hi-pots" type of use. Food is always gonna be useful, but I felt bad for alchemists because half or more of the stuff they made had to be NPC'd because you couldn't sell it.

Is this a hint at item customisation I spy?
Good point, but lets face it... nonstackable potions in XI really hindered the use. The only meds I ever brought with me were usually Hi-Potions and Megalixers. Everything else felt like a waste of inventory.
I am on page 151 and people are saying they hate huge numbers, 1 don't mind them, but they were also saying "It's dumb that people are gaining 88 sword skill per hit"
I'm pretty sure that means 88 experience in the gladiator class.
You gain Experience (Physical level)
You gain Experience on your weapon (Class level)
Thats how i interpreted it, so 80 exp isnt bad. ;p
Could also be because its beta... they want you to level faster than normal to test things faster.
Also note the description on the item: "Favors disciplines of war" Rank 0
I remember reading somewhere that there wasnt going to be any restrictions on equipment class wise, just certain armor would provide better chances at skilling up? while others would hinder (IE: Clunky knight armor on mage would hinder spellcasting or lower skillup rate).
I hope they don't go too overboard with that kind of stuff. I like keeping crap simple, but that's just me.
God I want to play XI again so bad while I wait for this...
