Some more images of armour/weapons.

So... the armors are divided between the 4 disciplines, not between the classes?
At least so far that is.
An F minus minus? The worst grade imaginable!
I'm curious about something..
In the next alpha test, someone equip the hat and then switch to a weapon from a different discipline, and see what happens. Would the hat get unequipped? Would the stats just have no effect?
Could also equip the tabard and then switch to a crafting or gathering tool.
Feels like it'd be weird if gear just fell off you if you simply changed weapons, it's not like in XI where you're changing jobs in your MH. Technically all you're doing is equipping a different weapon.
I've been following this thread somewhat closely and I haven't seen this asked/answered, but if it has been and I just missed it, I'll delete the post.
Rank 4 eh? So I suppose class levels = ranks?
I think the devs called them "Physical levels" and "Skill ranks", yes.
Somehow the skill descriptions make it seem like you can choose to level your abilities further (like having tiers on them II, III etc.)- I wonder if this is automatic or if you can choose which to level further.
Any hint of this in the Alpha? All the skills just appeared as you leveled and you didn't get to choose?
They had 4 hours to play in a very glitchy setting
no one got really far
On Klaatu's map I noticed the x and y coordinates are both numbers. Hopefully one side is changed to letters as giving out coords like 12-17 or 30-3 will be gay as fuck.

I don't know, I'm actually fairly excited to hear that having recently coming back to FFXI after a two-year break playing WoW. For those unfamiliar with this mechanic for whatever reason, sites often gave NPC coordinates as decimal places off the two-number grid system--like (50.4, 42.1). All you had to do was remember X first, Y second like anyone who's been through 6th grade has been taught, and suddenly coordinates get much more precise than "Near the border of H-6 and H-7 by the rock." You can just use decimals and be done with it. Of course, WoW had mods to facilitate this, since maps didn't actually have a grid on them there.
God forbid they use Math to express coordinates oh Noes...
do you disagree that using precise xy coordinates is better than huge blocks of letter number combinations?
Omg accuracy is a visible stat!? lol
