Can anyone confirm the minimum number of letters allowed in the first name and the last name? Is it 3 minimum for each?

Got actual mob names instead of just categories. Compiling and uploading in a while.![]()
Someone should be adding all this info to one of the wikis imo
Regarding the tabbing system discussed earlier.
It seems like the tabbing system is back from pooky's video.
Maybe shift tab to reverse tab to the left to easily select mobs in a crowd. Hmm did shift tab work in ffxi, never found out lol
I was mostly a mage player in ffxi, so I did not really play with the switch target mechanic.
I really didn't like the tab mechanic, usually had to f1 myself, move the camera to place the mob I want to target in the center, but slightly off to the right, tab once to select.
how about you just double click a mob to switch target to that
right
right?
The thing you were looking for is: WoW puts much more emphasis on player equipment as opposed to skill in order to excel at something. When you were told that you needed X gear to do well in Y raid - you really needed it. FFXI's end-game gear just made shit easier but you didn't need the gear as much as you did in WoW, not even close.
Quick Ex:
FFXI: I tanked Nidhogg fine with AF1. Did better when I actually put on better gear.
WoWBC: Take a Karazhan geared Prot Pally into Mount Hyjal. Watch what happens.
WoWLK: Take a fresh 80 Prot Warrior into ToTGC lol.
skimmed through a lot of this thread, and saw this mentioned but not sure if it was elaborated on; i saw in pookies video there was both skill points, and skill proficiency. seems like the skill points raise your rank in that particular class, but what does proficiency do? is there both class levels AND class skill ranks? im just a bit confused on it after watching the vids.
took the words right out of my mouth. thats kind of what ultimately drew me away from WoW. not a warcraft hater, but i hope FFXIV retains more of the skill based challenge its predecessor excelled at while trying to make the game more casual. WoW was just too easy imho.

Not sure if this has been asked but do we know what the level cap is? I think 20 is for the Alpha but the full game?
I believe they said at launch the level cap will be 50
Yeah, 50 sounds like something they'd say.
Not gunna worry about it, it's just a number. The time it takes the get there and what we can do at that point are a lot more important.
Omfg, playing Prot Warrior in WoW made me give up that damn game. Such a terrible wall new players hit when they get to cap. If I'm required to have a group of moderately geared players basically hold my hand through instances until I get gear well enough for me to even -consider- tanking in anything that matters, that bothers me.
