haha it was actually a question from a friend of mine. But he does have a point, since there's so much ffxi hacking. I didnt even bother with that thought, registered right away. And yea, both those community sites been around for quite some time now. But you never know! So it got me thinking, what if he was right. So i thought let it throw in here and see your opinions about it lol. And that i got.
I can confirm that the Allakhazam & FFXIclopedia Beta contests are legit, so no worries about your accounts being hacked.
So I was cleaning out my junk hotmail account and basically just deleting all... (over 1200) emails. One labled "FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Tester Selection Announcement" so I read..
Yay! lol I got into Alpha testing ;D
I used only 1 email 0 proxies
Been playing FFXI since Oct. 03 NA release always have been active and still playing.
Have a BFG 285 graphics card windows platform and I also noted in my application that I am graduating with a bachelors degree in video game design (don't think that has anything to do with it but meh... whatever, anything helps) lol. I'm trying to get my foot in the door some how and this would be something to put on a resume :D
Someone posted the email from the beta invite on KI.
Linkage, hurr.

Fucking cancelled my XI subscription like 2 weeks ago before getting billed at the end of feb. >< sob...
Alla's safe enough, but don't think I'd be trusting ffxiclopedia if it were just them. But yes, this is legit.
Is it alright if I post a poll basically asking all of those who signed up for the initial beta entry on the Square Enix website, who got in and who didn't?
Just curious on what kind of percentage of people got in, as I'm the only person in my LS who got in and I figured more would've gotten in
Has anyone gotten an e-mail from squar enix yet from the round 2 of invites?
should be about time for the emails to reach out.
its like christmas morning only without the guarantee of a gift.
From what they were saying, they'll e-mail the list to SE tomorrow and SE will choose from there. It's 5pm here in Japan now, the last ones went out at 7am EST IIRC, which is 9pm here. So if they don't send in the next 4h, then it won't be till tomorrow prolly.
