Looks like there's still a ton of issues getting logged in according to the Japanese players. Hopefully they'll get it improved by alpha 2.

Not entirely true. Only one cure spell has been identified. There is a distinct lack of a healing over time (regen) and a party heal (curaga). I can't imagine having only one type of healing available, not if you want challenging encounters.

Speaking of group heal, since there is no longer an alliance set up with all 15 players being in the same party, I wonder what kind of hate generation one would get landing a huge curaga on all members =P

Cure (IV) Restores HP of allies within area of effect.

Regular cures and curagas are the same thing from what I can tell, all your basic spells seem to be AOE now.

I'd be pretty surprised if there weren't a couple more DoM by release. There are currently some pretty large gaps in the thematic roles at the very least, and some noteworthy mechanical gaps as well.

Probably because these guys were clever and the stream is limited to members of their community.

Good question about the hate.

Remember that so far the info is only up to level 20. Its very possible there are many more healing spells available after 20. If you take FFXI as a reference a level 20 WHM or RDM would have had what, cure 1 + 2, curaga + regen? Would they even have curaga then? I can't remember.

Point being that there are lots of things we just dont know yet.

No need for regen you get it when you are in passive, either that or they are saving those spells for a bard type.

Don't think we need anymore DoM besides bard and summoner personally.

A mage with a regular weapon attack (perhaps a fast attacking sword) would be good.

And hopefully of all the swords that turn you into that class, there will be at least one with "Occasionally attacks twice" and good damage.

Why do we need Curaga when Cure is already AoE?
Cura and Curaga may appear later on as more powerful versions but stuff like Cure and Fire is already AoE in XIV.
