I tried looking through a few pages in this thread and using the search function but it was hard to pinpoint the exactly, simple question I had:

Is there a way to cure during active/fighting mode as Conjurer or Thaumturge?

Thaumaturge gets Drain and Sacrifice (transfers your HP to the target). Conjurer gets Cure (aoe). Thaumaturge doesn't start with either, but I'm pretty sure Conjurer has Cure from the get go.

Do you need to equip a wand to use the cure spell? All I had to start as Conjurer was Dmg spell, MP spell (like ether), Fire, Blizzard, Water, etc. but no cures...

I know there is a 1 hand and 2 hand weapon for both classes, so i guess one is for white magic and for black perhaps, Thaumaturge prob Astral and Umbral.

Check the guild but I don't think you can buy low level weapons.

While judging her ass like any sane man would do I noticed the stuff on er back and I'm 100% sure shes the 1st Colossus from Shadow of the colossus.

Takes a good deal of creativity to turn that abomination to something doable.

Nope check http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/ they have 2 weapons types for both classes.

Err.. Guess I was wrong, there is a shift of detail when you go from the opening CS to gameplay

They basically took out all of the non-standing, complicated (and immersive) models. The people leaning against the railing, the people just lounging around - all the things we won't be able to do in the game (at least with the alpha/beta).

The graphical quality didn't take a hit, though, which is probably the biggest concern for most people.

I still find it weird for a 4 foot taru to run as fast as a 6 foot long legged elvaan. Just looks funny watching that small guy run like someone was going to eat him, but the taller races run at a brisk pace.

Well I'm 6'3" and my GF is 5'3", and just watching her struggle to keep up with me when I'm doing a brisk walk shows me the difference between our leg span and how many more steps she has to take to keep up with my gaits.

I'm sure there's ways to get armor and weapons through quests and possibly guildleves. Just start undertaking all the quests and guildleves you can find.

Who is this jennacide nigga lol? Calling a FFXIV a rehash is quite a stretch. But I guess if you go on the tutorial battle it kind of looks like you are auto-attacking. (Also pooky played like shit.) I wonder if we will see characters with more than 8 actions in their bar before the alpha is out.

I've been to too many betas. I've worked on a lot of problems, I've given suggestions (some were used.) I see many problems so far, and in this direction it looks like it's still going to be too little, too late. Just a FFXI expansion. FFXI: FFXIV.

Go find some videos of tiny Aion characters. The movement speed is the same but the leg movement scales with size so they just kinda scurry along. Its fucking retarded.

You don't want to add movement speed realism into the equation. Some types of realism just aren't fun to look at or experience.
