Are you able to move the cursor at all with the joypad(analoge stick) and move the UI like you can with the mouse?

edit: you CAN scroll some menus though with the controller though, not sure about the chat window.

If ff11 is anything to go by with respect to time from alpha/beta to release I wouldn't worry about it slipping into '11. 4-6 months from now is my prediction around the same months roughly as FF11 in the US on PC coincidentally (it was Oct or Nov iirc).

For sure they'd want to have it available for holiday shopping season.

i like seeing very rapid responses and quick adjustments to the issues pretty much everybody had it seems. This really reassures me that the alpha feedback won't fall on deaf ears.

I don't care if the beta+alpha lasts 1.5 years at this point, get it working at 100% perfection before they release the game. That's my stance.

I think its just means instead of them moving on to balancing issues they are going to continue with battle and control.

Obviously they have a schuedule on what they want the testers to concentrate on and because of the server issues they didn't get everyones feedback.

It means they are extending the period in which testers will be testing the UI and Combat before moving onto other areas like Crafting etc.

it means they are doing exactly what they should be doing. More than likely still 4 hour test phases, but development progression is going slower than the anticipated. This means instead of say having the first 2 weeks on battle/ui/classses, its being extended until it works. It could be 1 extra week, or 4. However long they need to get it working right.

Yes this means the alpha is being extended. They are getting the shit they need rather than rush development, which is a good thing.

So stop all the bullshit speculation on a christmas release date, they are gonna get the game working and then they will release it. It could be winter 2010 or summer 2011. It doesn't matter when they release it as long as they release a perfect version with no RMT hacks happening right after launch.

Since they are having problems with handling the amount of players in the same zone, I doubt they will invite even more testers, until they have a fix for the problems.

Trust me, you don't want an invite. So far only a fraction of the testers can get on during allocated test times. So if they invited more people, there'd be even more people bitching on the beta forums.

Yea if you guys read my posts, you'll know more information then 75% of the testers haha, probably more then that, most of the testers are incompetent 14yrs.

the beta forums are still full of speculation from people who haven't been able to test anything.
