I think FFXIV will be out around October. just my 2 cents
this topic sucks now.. it went from cake, to various none related beta stuff to now ppl arguing over a 2010 release date.. lol, dont think you all realize how close to completion the game is. resolving client stability issues is the main thing..
i dont know about the problem with them selectiing an ability and it not executing after the bar fills but it might be due to server lag or it might be built in delay like FFXI.
in FFXI when u used an ability it would also ready it first and then execute it after a few secs or less. but like i said i dunno the cause or the extend of these problems
i think the mob respawn might have the problems tho. the fact that the server is lagging and maybe SE has them spawn in a random position each time meaning you might be camping it at point A but it respawnd at point B and maybe even got killed there.
anyway i like to speculate cause we dont have anyting better to do atm lol.
Oh im sad there is no crafting yet or i am a mistaken. its only the battle system right now isnt it?
im still wondering how they wll make DoH and DoL important in parties. only way i can think of is wirh some party abilities like a brd it would increase weapon smg a bit or food duration and effectiveness hehe,
does my sig show up yet :/ ?
Battle basically plays out as follows:
1. Target monster *you can lock on if you want, but it doesnt auto lock on, you have to press lock on. For my gamepad setup its L3*
2. Switch to active mode. *action bar begins to fill*
3. Click the skill when the bar is filled to use it right away, or wait a little longer for the effect gauge to fill up. For conj. a full effect gauge meant the magic cast did a nice chunk more of damage *roughly 30dmg more*
4. Rinse and repeat.
The timing of when u click to use the skill is important, as the effect gauge fills up, but once its full it starts to deplete. *if youve ever played a madden game, think about the kick off or fieldgoal gauge, only much slower*
I haven't tested out battle regiments yet though, so i've yet to see how that comes into play.
I've met a lot of college graduates that are a hell of a lot dumber than high school graduates. I'd say there's an equal amount of dumbfuck college grads as there is HS grads. All college means is their parents have money or blowjobs to get their kids through college.
What would work is if they made a quiz or test you had to take and type out your own answers. Not a skill test, but a test to see how your brain works.
Hire a few people to go through applications, look for key words, make a filter that auto-rejects any apps that have the words "like WoW" or "FFXI was too hard" or "I love WoW" or "Jumping" or "sit in chairs" or "Xbox 360" or "male mithra"
They wouldnt even need to read the applications, just make people talk, then put it through a system that checks for these negative keywords.
Perfect
Yea sounds like the variation in attack speed is due to latency all over the place, plus the thing with claimed mobs is probably because what the user is seeing and what is actually happening on the server aren't synced.
Doesn't take much to figure these things out, seems like they have a lot of inexperienced testers in this Alpha.
I want someone to start out as a Miner or a Blacksmith and tell us how it affects the battle scene on the boat.
i was wondering tho what the bennefit is of having to go into active mode before you engage a mob. why doesnt it autogo into active mode when you engage? now i dont want it to auto into passive mode because you might be trying to keep the bars full when you swiitch target.
i dont mind it either way , im just trying to figure out why lol
aww when you throw a rock it should go into a CS where u forge an weapon and give it to the NPC and she kills it for you with the weapon you forged lol.
the CS can be a miner and blacksmith working together.
with food it could be u cooking and increasing the str of the npc before she engages and kills it.
etc

Spoiler: show
seriously the amount of graphical quality in this alpha and you complaining about a still frame of grass?
Or am I getting trolled?
Pretty sure you're getting trolled. We're playing a MMO, not Crysis.
The only thing I can comment about Discipline of Land is that on the mini-map quarry points appear as red dots just like mobs![]()
