I wonder where people will be going to strut their shit as level 50s
If there is an AH there damn well better be more than 7 slots. Shit is ridiculous, especially if you are selling a lot of things that don't stack.
Oh yeah I have a question, can you examine people in XIV, and does it show them a message? Also is that how bazarrs work in XIV?
So there was a bit of an update to the login process on my site. I hope it's a tad less deterring now.
Being better is fun in a lot of ways. Knowing you're doing the best you can do, knowing you aren't holding people back with your abilities or equipment, knowing that this fight or task is easier because you're pulling your weight.
Or simply seeing yourself own the fuck out of some enemies. Admiration is a part of being better, and no doubt that's the part some people will seek, but that's not the only part that's fun.
Striving to be better is fun, getting that next piece of equipment or a certain ability is loads of fun, because you know you're better than before and can do the things I mentioned. Striving to be better than others breeds competition, which helps the [party/linkshell/whatever] more, because the members are looking for ways to outdamage the others, or be the most efficient/dedicated healer and so on.
There are other forms of enjoyment for sure, and being better is definitely one of them. Probably the least gay one.
I personally hope the XI style AH makes a return because it was such a good tool to facilitate trade..
A bazaar only economy would work, but would be kinda weak by itself because economic activity is slowed down due to not having a market where you can interact without both parties being at the same place at the same time.
It also makes it harder to establish market equilibrium because people don't have much knowledge of what others may be pricing their goods at.
It's kinda like dynamis currency in XI. The price fluctuates a bit but if you're not in the know of buying and selling them you often don't know how much to buy or sell them for.
AH in XI isnt just useful because its a place to buy and sell, its also a page listing, which is something bazaars cannot replicate.
The only way I see bazaars fully replacing AH's functions is if theres a system that does a quick listing of all items being bazaared in the current area and their prices.. to give information on the market..
and if you're allowed to sell your products through a NPC vendor or an automated storefront, in which case the meeting of 2 people isn't required for business. But in this case, its almost the same as an AH system already.
Bazaar only reminds me of RO, which is fucking terrible. I'd rather all the systems be linked, cause wanting to buy stuff from Jeuno while being in Bastok/Windy/Sandy was annoying. This will be even more annoying, with hundreds of mules cluttering up areas to sell stuff.
Your statement could end up being the way they handle the so called "Market System" in which they wish to work. However, the biggest flaw is that you can only sell stuff in the system while online. The only way it would truly work is if your bazaar was listed in the master list no matter if you are online or not.

On a separate note, have we any news on their rescheduled 3rd and 4th tests?
When I was 8 years old. I played the outdated NES cartridge of ff1. The way my generation of gamers played it, we tried to beat games asap, with less effort but more challenge. No farming was involved. Then we talked shit to each other at school. This is beyond years ago. The first mmo I played was calledd d&d... then I played 1st ed ad&d with some pot head kids i sold pot too... then i played 2nd ed... All I can see the mission is to create an immersive environment... enjoy the time we spend with it.. if you dont enjoy it.. kill yourself?
BRP is a kid I used to not understand when we were both at leat 6 years younger. Now, I dont see how he can skip some of the worst horse shit I have ever read in the past 5 years, and talk sht aBout some menial garbage. brp.. GO BACK TO TAKING CARE OF THIS SHIT!!! Games are Games are Gmes are Games.... Don't say you dont want to make ff games about esports but then contradict yourself...
My only wish right now is for a FFXIV benchmark program to be released from SE.
..Not just to see how well my PC could run the game, but I just wanna see the game "live" at my screen :s
Come to think of it, I could live on a benchmark till the game is released!~
how sad is that lol..
Going to go ahead and agree with Arximiro on this, particularly with regard to "selling a lot of things that don't stack." Things like Colibri Beaks, Beetle Shells, and Crab Shells are always vendor fodder for me because of the 7-item limit on the AH.
Another obnoxious thing was FFXI's approach to partial stacks--got 10 feathers/wings/silks/hive chips/wtfever? Too bad. Only used one of that stack of Poison Pots you bought for that last mission? Too bad. Vendor them, send them to your "I collect partial stacks of everything so I can sell it all one day" mule that everyone has (admit it), or put up with trying to sell them one-by-one in an AH with such delay in bidding that no one in their right mind would buy them one-by-one!
...yeah, FF14 could use improvements in the economy category.
In before someone bitches that we're not talking about anything useful/anything we'll have answers on for months. :3
Benchmark would be interesting. As for me I've been craving my addition by playing previous FF games.
Still can't get in the mood to play FF2 though...
Stackables (Or nearly anything for that matter) hardly sold worth a damn anyway. Meds I can somewhat agree with though.Going to go ahead and agree with Arximiro on this, particularly with regard to "selling a lot of things that don't stack." Why did they cancel it?
Because you are interested in it. It's all a great conspiracy.
They got fed up with unstable servers so they've cancelled it for a week so they can fix that shit
I think they said they planned to have a market system where a character has his/her own shop and they are interlinked through a marketplace.
AH with a decent search function {yes please}
