Is there anything like a direct download for this yet? SE's torrent system sucks, and I have a friend who won't have the download bandwidth or whatever to get the game till the 15th.

By then, I assume that downloading on the patcher will be extremely difficult since no one else will be on it, and I only see uploading going on as people download.

So... what to do? Find a direct DL before the 15th?

Well for the people who were having the install trouble, this is what worked for me.

I went into compatibility and made it run compatible for XP SP2. Then I went to msconfig and Startup and disabled all items for startup. I restarted and ran the installer with nothing else running and it installed all the way just fine.

I like the song that's labeled as: "Uploader 1", it kinda sounds like the Lalafell theme song. Btw, where are all these so many songs coming from? I thought only the ones playing on the uploader thingy were available.
Edit: Kickass! So that means there's many more songs available right now, keep them coming, lol. Keep on working that mysterious magic.

The patch file is 3.09GB, a direct download will be very rare to find.

The .torrent is useless by itself, it's merely the 3gb huge .patch file. Need the core .exe.

A lot of people are reporting that downloading with the torrent in a normal P2P program actually much slower. Then again, I've also heard the contrary. If you had enough using a normal P2P program, I assume it would be better.
