Looks like Microsoft had timed exclusivity with the leap year bug. PS3 got it 3 years down the line though. Rejoice.

I'm sure they'll be some kind of firmware update. If the clock has a bug that can cripple the system like this did that even affected debug consoles then they'll be forced to fix it.

For those that don't remember, the Zune had this exact same problem a few years back, and made them unusable for a day, lol.

I'm assuming you're talking about your trophies and not your game save, you can try this, found it at gamefaqs.

"IF you synced your trophies before this all happened, plug in the game you lost trophies for, boot it up, open up the xmb, go over to the friends tab, click yourself, wait for the little bar to fill up to 100%, voila, your trophies are back for that game

I know I uploaded mine since I started heavy rain... and Heavy rain shows ur trophies in game.. so it has to fuck w/ ur save data to remove those

Does it upload your trophies when you do that also? because thats the only thing I have done in the past (and im hoping that uploads them) so I may be safe.. if that doesnt save them on the server them im SoL

Seems those Red Faction trophies of mine are gone for good. Did ingame sync via profile, and profle only shows the one trophy from the game in the 8 recently acquired ones, so I'm boned.

Not a biggy though for me, game is enjoyable, got no prob starting over. Time to play some Heavy Rain.....or, well, craft this origami figure while it installs.

I guess it's safe to assume there'll be a firmware patch eventually to fix the issue for future problems, and hopefully some countermeasures to corrupted trophy data. >.>

Can confirm this works. Didn't log on at all yesterday but the trophy sync logging into Demon's Souls a few minutes ago wiped them all anyway. Checked myself on my friends list and all is golden with the world.

I couldn't tell you, all of my trophies were fine.

Yes. Sync operation basically uploads your trophies to match them with ones on the server. As far as I know they can't be deleted from the server.

I was one of those people affected by the Zune crash. I was raging hardcore, let me tell you. As soon as I heard about this issue that's the first thing that popped into my head, just wait it out until GMT midnight and voila! Good to know, because I bought two 60GBs and I wasn't going to bother with the new, non-BC ones.

Heh, my PS3 set itself to the year 2020. Went and resync'd it with Sony's server and all is good now.

If that's the case, then you didn't sync them to the server prior to the blow up, and you shouldn't have been messing with the system when it bugged. Sorry to hear about your loss either way.

I was playing when the bug happened, so it's not like I poked my nose in after the problem was known.

And as for syncing...who knew. I'm used to 360's automatically saving your achievements the second you get them.

So how did my demon's souls trophies get synced? lord knows I've never done it manually.
