Ugh at Odin/Alexander. I'm so disappointed that part of me doesn't even want to exert the effort to get them just so I can be /sadface. Undoubtedly they will be available through some quest. I personally highly doubt it will involve a BCNM, you are not truly unlocking the avatar, just a special ability basically, like a once per 2hrs summoner weaponskill -.-
Also I don't think they will nerf SMN burn, but I do know that Odin's pact won't work for it.
Yes my post was geared towards the many people who are talking about Zantetsuken like it's going to work in AB. Although we don't know the amount of accuracy down vs mob total, I think it's safe to say that it's not going to be a viable option for AB.
I think it may turn out to be used as your last pact.
Typically get 3 flow pacts off, now will be avatar of choice for first two, clearing a lot of mobs, and last one being Zantetsuken for clean up; makes for less Thunderspark.
TBH if there's a required BCNM I expect it to be more fun than actually possessing their ability. Having a BC fight against both Alex/Odin at the same time would be a cool gimmick but not bloody likely.
Someone should test how well Zantetsuken will clear out the Darter group in Dragon's Aery after the update.
Am I the only one more excited about what gear possibilities we might be able to get as rewards for the supposed Alex/Odin BC's other than avatar use?
Zantetsuken, the new Ruinous Omen.
lvl 75 smn in west ronf. rounds up 30-40 level 10 or lower mobs and uses Zantetsuken. I bet some will survive
I'm actually hoping the two missing attachments for puppetmaster will be in the reward list for repeating these fights. 1 dark from Odin, and 1 light from Alexander.
I don't understand why Summoners are happy about this since Alex / Odin are only usable once every 2 hours. Sure, it's a nice new toy for Summoner, but how is it going to help them find parties or stop the "Sub WHM/SCH and Heal" mentality that exists on the road to 75? (with the exception of SMN Burns) It's a one trick pony that changes the way SMN is played for 3 minutes then it's back to your old style for the next hour and 55 minutes.
