D: Been up all night so I could wake up and stay up to pick up the game and pump a few hours into it. Got a message from gamestop saying I need to be there by 10 to finalize payment and then wait till 12 to get the game. The fuck is this, just give me the game when I pay.

every midnight launch I have been to starts at 10, but you don't have to be there, I usually go around 11:30 and finalize then.

Closest around here appears to be 8.30 am tomorrow... do I really want this enough to justify getting out of bed at 8am on my morning off? Guy in LS had the notification email his order for this had been dispatched on Friday or something ridiculous, hasn't been sighted since, so I'm assuming he's either dead, or got the game early (not sure which of the UK online retail sites that was from though).

They cant physically sell you the copy till one minute after midnight, thats breaking streetdate.

Don't think they do midnight releases for games. They do that for consoles only.

Best Buy does midnight launches all the time, they do them for movies, games, consoles and phones. They're doing one here for GOW 3 and Twilight this month.

Actually I just had a thought - anyone know when the 24 hour supermarkets might put this out on their shelves? (Have at least 3 24-hour opening ones within 10 minutes' drive of here and I'm generally still around rattling around the house by then at night - and it's preferable to 8am in the morning... anything's preferable to mornings).

I think this is what I'll do. I don't see the point in going two hours early, other than getting your copy first. I'd rather wait in line a while than chill out in Gamestop for two hours, the thought of it makes me shudder.

I could understand if it's just you. I have a group of friends who always go to the midnights here and friends that work at gamestop, so its more to go hang out and socialize. Of course get that copy early!

Some people prefer more open-ended games, some people more of a linear experience. Just because I don't like games like Elder Scrolls doesn't mean that I won't rate the game high regardless if it's good, but to some people not liking the game = the game sucking.

It works out very well... I have 2 days of sick time left and it gets wiped next pay period cause of my anniversary date. And i got pink eye this weekend (assuming from the gym), very mild and doesnt bother me, but its pink eye. So im in work today (haha), and gonna call in tomorrow morning for my 48 quarantine where i can't go into work. I didnt need to lie

I took tomorrow off too, no real reason, I'm not that hyped for FFXIII but I'll be doing the midnight launch and I'm already tired today, why not use the PTO? It'll be a nice relaxing day of PS3 binging.
