Australian, Fang has an Australian VA too.

Finished the JP version, on chapter 11 on the english version and I have no idea lol. It isn't explained at any point except at chapter 9 she uses it as a fishing hook to catch some monster with Fang. Which then looks like they did that kind of stuff before in "the good old days", long before shit hit the fan.

Don't you meet her for the first time at the fal'Cie Vestige btw? (somehow this is blurry to me, while I was there last saturday lol) Probably just placed it there then. Why not have it on her? Maybe she didn't wanna scare the toddler... err Hope.

Yeah, its when Hope + Vanille are walking around the Vestige near the beginning of the game. They land there after hijacking the flight cycle thing from NORA. The first thing Vanille does is see something behind a statue and just randomly grabs the weapon out of nowhere. its my only "wtf" moment so far that doesnt have an explanation.

Yeah, i dont get why they didnt just have it on her. Hope had his rang, Lightning her gunblade, Sazh had his guns...just doesnt make any sense.

Edit: Also, Ravager does what it says...its not just a clever name.

If im guessing correctly, you find out why shes so standoffish toward Sazh's words later on, so im hoping they explain that much about her weapon as well. Its been the only plot occurence so far that hasnt been covered in assumptions or backstory.
    Spoiler: show

It is explained later. If you want to know why, open the next spoiler
    Spoiler: show

She's an I'Cie from the first time you meet her, hence why she had one more ATB gauge than Hope. As such, it is likely she hid the weapon behind the pillar beforehand. Both she and Fang were born on Pulse and are partners, achieved their focus, and became crystalized. After some time, they woke up on Cocoon (likely because they were transported there like Serah were).

I gathered as much in Vanille's case (noticed the ATB bar, but didnt connect that right away) and had an idea about that in Fangs case since I thought they were both from Pulse.

Glad its at least explained though later on, I can stop fussing about it from a writing and storytelling perspective then.
    Thanks.

So far, I'm loving the black dude in this game. I'm very early on, but when Lightning's going to 'blow up the door', he was like 'HOLD ON... OK. MAKE IT HAPPEN." rofl

Yeah he's my favorite character by far. Best comic relief character in a game in so long, lol

I just wanna know what happens if an I'Cie that has completed its focus and become crystalized, then retain human form again, dies. I mean, he/she has already completed its focus, so do they just die? Or do they become Cie'th like the other I'Cie that dies?

That doesn't mean you have to use it, but I repeat, it should have been an option.
I agree I even posted about it earlier, would be nice to include in some sort of patch through PSN/Xbox Live or something, I'm not sure whether L/R 1/2 do anything in battle (I've only been playing for about 45 minutes) but that could be used to easily swap through characters.

Do you have a couple hundred thousand to spend yet? If not, don't worry about it. The trick is to get their exp multiplier to 3x with some cheap organic materials, then pop a micro fusion reactor (50k each) to get to star level in a hurry.

Sounds like an easy way to avoid game over.

I think it was at the start of chapter five when you play with Lightning, there was a group of things right next to a save point. I'd fight them and get like 150 points and they always dropped items worth quite a bit towards upgrade. It was my first good place to level grind and get items for upgrading.

Money is scarce early on for sure. In late chapter 11 you can do a miniquest for several hundred thousand gold which sets you up pretty nicely for a while. And the mobs in the final dungeon drop items worth a shitton of cash too. Stuff like Credit Chips, Perfume, Platinum Ingots etc. sell for thousands, each.

God, the voice actor for Vanille is ugh...

I like the game, love the battle system, but I hate the linearity. I actually got to play a couple hours tonight.

I been wasting my credit chips on upgrades I haven't sold anything!

I'm on the airship Palamecia fighting people, and I have heard from a ton of people that around 20 hours into the game it "opens up", without telling me too much, am I close to that part? I'm around 20 hours in

If an item only gives 1exp to a weapon, check its sell value, chances are good it's meant to be cashed out.

    Spoiler: show
You're not far from the opened up area; you got one big area after Palamecia to traverse, first
