Quick questions. Is inventory capped at some number? Like you can only have 99 items or some shit? Second question, is it worth keeping old weapons when you find news one, or just sell them off?

Loving this game atm, about 9 hours in. Only thing, I wish it had was macros, the fights are so fast I find myself spamming the auto attack so I can maintain 5 stars for the bonus.
Spoiler: show
on the airship, you mean?

When Vanille was lifting herself up a ledge and Sazh looks over up her skirt...I laughed so hard. Sazh is amazing. Vanille isn't annoying at all either, I found her early dialogue to be pretty cute, e.g. "Ciao!" (pose)

The darn cars that have the gatling gun sometimes get me, if im to slow to casting pld buffs on myself bla. Is there a way to stop this? Outside slowing down my two man team by using a full time pld...
Its only got me twice but god I hate that lol
Spoiler: show
All stackable items cap at 99, after which enemies won't drop any more for you and you can't buy any more of them at the item shops.
It's not worth it to sell weapons/accessories if you're going for the platinum trophy (since some items only come from upgrading old items), but the element-resist accessories are largely worthless (only fire/earth/air are worth hanging on to practically speaking).
The gatling gun has a long spinup time so when it charges up switch to your paradigm with a tank on it, manually provoke it until it targets you (seldom takes more than one cast) then go into auto defense mode to soak up the hits. This of course requires the tank be your group leader but I'm pretty sure Snow is the leader at that point in the game. The darn cars that have the gatling gun sometimes get me, if im to slow to casting pld buffs on myself bla. About 14.5hrs in and loving this game so far. The only thing I dislike is how much of a fucking crybaby Hope is. Other than that, I can't really find much to complain about.
So yeah, 5 staring Boss fights is fucking fun lol. It usually takes me a few tries, but I'm loving it.
Edit: Also, I can see now why there aren't any towns. With the way the story is going, it would be weird to have them.
I'm about 6:45 in and I just now got to the point where I can upgrade. I feel uber slow. So when upgrading.. should I just hold onto my shit and upgrade stronger weapons? or upgrade the starter ones I still have? I've yet to sell anything.
I'm at about the same spot and I went ahead and upgraded Lightning's Gladius to Lv3. It's a pretty nice boost. If I had 12 or more of a certain item, I'd use half of them to level up. I got Exp x3 pretty earlier into the upgrade, though, so I ended up spending less than I intended.
Woo! Odin down! Not as bad as I thought. Took about 3 tries.
@Akiyama: Yeah. Certain items give exp bonuses. I ended up going from 1x to 1.5x on my first item use, then 2x, then 3x. Not in a row, but only like 1-2 item uses apart. Also, from what I've seen, you keep the bonus even after exiting the menu, so you can save right before and try to get 1.5x with one upgrade, then save, and repeat till you get 3x.
@Akiyama: Lol, awesome. Yeah, I'm like that, too. I didn't wanna lose all my mats yet, so I did that whole 'use half of anything I had that was at 12 or more' thing.
Anybody know if 'Quit' lowers the battle difficulty? Or if there even is one. It seems like If I select 'Quit' after losing battles then loading and trying again, they're easier, so I've been exiting the game then reentering each time I lose lol.
One battle that led me to believe this was the one right before you fight the Twin Sisters with Snow. It ended up taking me 4 tries to beat the Twin Sisters, and each time I selected 'Quit' the battle before it with all the guards would throw less and less at me. It was like 8 on the first try, 5 on the next, then just the first 3 you start with, which is when I exited the game and restarted, then it threw 8 at me again.
I don't know how they did it, but they actually made the comic-relief characters actually fun to have around. Vanille is somehow cute/bubbly/optimistic/girly without getting on my nerves at all, she's actually funny/interesting... and yes, to whoever mentioned it, her walk animation is spot-on. I was expecting to hate the token black guy, but Sahz's dialog is some of the best and most natural in the cast.
I was expecting to like the powerhouse punchy guy that Snow is, but his personality is annoying... and I am tired of Lightning being such a dick to everyone, I prefer when she is a bit less dry. Near-uhh... I mean Hope is still little kid baggage to me so far.
Then again, I'm taking my time and savoring it all as I had only just arrived at the Vile Peaks. I find myself just stopping every 2 minutes to look at the ridiculously beautiful surroundings/lighting/details... blows me away. So glad they went up to 1080p.
Yeah, I'm glad about that too. Your assessments on the characters are pretty much spot on. I haven't laughed hard in a game in a long time, and Sahz+Vanille do that to me. I don't mind Light/Lightning's personality, really. Hope's sort of meh. I hope he hits Snow soon. Snow's the typical 'Imma hero and will save everyone' bastard.
Either way, I'm about 7:30 in and just beat Odin.. not too bad. Took two times.
As far as it getting easier if you quit, I've never hit quit so I dunno.
