FFX-2's battle system was pretty legit.

You really don't have to read the datalogs btw, to get the storyline. I didn't and I was just fine. Datalogs are just there incase you need to refresh your memory along the way.

That or just for a good read in general. To me, the datalogs are there so we don't have to go through so many hours of dialogue and we can just read and follow it at our own pace. I've liked that.

What the fuck is up with the 1xBoxed Phalanx, 2xHoplite-pack right past the Juggernaut-path. I've died more on those than any of the bosses combined, after Hoplites buff themselves they just focus someone down with all three hitting for 600 every 4 seconds. You can't even kill the Hoplites, because then the Phalanx calls 3 more. Do I suck or do I need to grind more?
I can kill everything else in there with ease, it's just this one fight.

You suck and need to grind some more. That, or just focus on killing the head honcho and not worry about the hoplites.

This fight was really difficult for me as well, and there is another even harder version of this pack later in the tunnel, just use a summon and get it over with, it's a pita.

Questions:
What do the Role Level spheres do for me, aside from having to get them to move up the tree?

Is there a site that lists what the weapon effects do? Like wtf is defense maintenance on one of Snow's or Hope's weapons, etc. ?
