P.S. this is a once in a lifetime event.
P.S. this is a once in a lifetime event.
There is a spelling joke in there but I just cant find it.
This would be a valid argument if it didn't detract from the overall effect. Instead of hearing her speak and saying "hm, that's an interesting accent", you're hearing it and saying "ugh, what the fuck is she doing? Make up your mind". Just because you don't know how an Australian accent is supposed to sound and hence can't pick up on the inadequacy doesn't mean she should be absolved.
The bottom line is that her accent, regardless of whether or not it's completely genuine, sounds to people who know what they're supposed to be hearing like a bad imitation. A bad accent is a bad accent - it will always detract from a performance unless it's intentionally used for comedic effect. I guess if you're unaware that it's bad due to the fact that you've nothing to compare it to then you can't be blamed for thinking it's fine, but you're still wrong in trying to argue against someone who knows what it's meant to sound like.
Ib4 suspending belief because it's a fantasy world and maybe she comes from a distant planet where they all speak like that! Give me a break.
FWIW I agree with you. The voice acting is terrible on Vanille. I felt like the accent was done by someone confused about what Australian is supposed to mean. Trying to sound Japanese while speaking English like an Australian is too difficult to pull off for this actress, despite the fact that she's from Australia. I would have fired her and hired someone who sounded more like fang only a little bit cuter and younger... Vanille's voice is over done cheesy and annoying.
I hate to repeat myself but a. her accent is an accent, not an impression, it can't be "inadequate" b. she's not voicing an australian, her australian accent can't be "inadequate"
Fixed.
So you're incredibly familiar with the accent the voice actress speaks yet can't tell an imitation from a genuine accent and we're supposed to care what you think of her voice acting. Got it.
I like it.
Also, I hate my fellow Americans too. Too dumb to know when they're being screwed over by their politicians, and too pacified by their distractions to care.
I think drwaffles read the first few pages of sheep hating on Vanille's voice, posted on the bandwagon and is now stuck defending an idiotic point. Vanille's voice is fine, in fact I enjoyed it, who cares if you don't think it's an authentic Australian accent, she's from motherfucking Pulse. Pulsian motherfucker, do you speak it? No? Then shut the fuck up.
Her voice acting is awful and most people with ears can tell you that, accent doesn't even really matter.
Her voice acting was not awful you people just got something stuck up your ass and for some reason always find something to complain about.
EDIT: People hating probably sound like some 70 year old lady that's been smoking since they were 12.
Yeah, her voice wasn't the best but I did like it. It certainly didn't take away from any of the emotional scenes
Spoiler: show
Usually when voices go wrong, it's more to do with the direction rather than the actors. Some VAs are really good, but do terrible voices. Key example is in SO4, where you have a good, normal sounding voice and some weird, wacky annoying voice both done by the same person.
I believe you're the one trying to troll here. Either that or you're incredibly stupid. Both are equally probable.
I didn't read any of this topic at all before posting, but I'm not surprised you're making dumb assumptions based on the precedent set by people who share your opinion. Anyone with a brain can tell I'm right and you're just bashing me because either you don't like me or you can't bear to see someone speak ill of your precious jailbait. Probably both.
Oh, and note also that I criticised her entire delivery, not just her accent. Whilst you can probably be forgiven for thinking her accent was acceptable due to your own ignorance, claiming that she's a good actress in a general sense is outright wrong and proves that you don't really know what you're talking about.
How do you get to Mission 30's mark? I've ran around everywhere in that place and couldn't find a way to get to the spot. Starting to think you have to beat the game or some other mission to get there?
It's the one in the mines.
Warp to Springs and ride Atomos back to the mines. Pretty short run from there, should be obvious where to go.
Can anyone remember where they got the Earth Charm from? It's the only accessory i'm missing. Apparently it's in a treasure sphere on Gran Pulse, but I can't find it for the life of me. <_<
