ahahaha I just got Army of One, this shit is badass. I thought it sucked until I found out you're supposed to use it on an already-staggered enemy, holy crap. makes those annoying enemies that use a physical-immune shield much easier to take down in one stagger, before they toss it back up. and being able to paradigm switch right after starting it doesn't hurt either. rav/rav/rav -> stagger -> army of one -> immediately com/com/com and fuck some shit up.

plus it just looks fucking cool.

(yeah I'm behind everyone else by a lot)

*high five* me too, I just got all the "ultimate" abilities and they are very badass/fun.

Also, it is normal that I got 'Limit Breaker' with just an ass-whooping by Shiva, right?

You don't need the gloves to get it through summons. I got mine from bahamut.

I feel like it was confirmed somewhere on here, but yeah, Eidolons don't have a 99,999 damage cap on their finishing moves regardless of Genji Gloves.

So I just got my first Genji Glove. What's the way to use this and how often does it come about? I read it's best on Fang with a max Kain's Lance, guessing for Highwind? what else?

Put it on any character that regularly dishes out 99,999s (which, I believe, would usually be your regular Commandos).

Highwind becomes all kinds of fun with the Genji, 1.2m+ damage the second fight after I got it floored me.

Is there actually any decent way of getting money? It's getting pretty frustrating actually heh... I dug up a gold nugget while running around with a choco, but I assume there's a limited amount of them just laying around on the ground no? Otherwise, if they keep spawning i'll just keep running around heh.

Is there any decent way to make money? Because it seems really frustrating to level up all weapons.

I don't think there's a limit to the amount of crap you can dig up but the annoying thing is I think that there is only one or two active digging spots up at any given time. The steppe is kinda' too big for that to be an effective way to make money.

I know you can spam the shit out of Mission 7 since the stone is like 5 seconds away from the mark and it can drop like 15k and 30k gil in spoils. Other than that I am a little underdeveloped for making real big monays. Not to mention I have only got one damn 15k gil drop off that mark after 15~20 goes at it (all 5-star with connoisseur's)

Get Death as soon as you can, and get yourself a Growth Egg and start killing turtles. Good CP, and good money from Platinum Ingots.

Which turtles exactly? I've only managed to land Death on the weakest ones. The others resist and resist and resist until it gets up and shits on me.

Yeah I'm having this issue at the moment myself - if I have to listen to Barbie witter and fail to land Death much more I'm going to go nuts - I know it's a low chance land, but I've spent hours failing this afternoon with it.

SAB SAB RAV (Vanille, Fang, Lightning)

    Hecaton right at the start.

Spam Death, Fang will spam Debuffs, Lightning does her thang to stagger it.

I don't know if its true or not, but I feel as if the success rate for Death is better depending on either the amount of debuffs a mob has or if its staggered.

Good alternative is farming perfumes/chips/scarlites, making on average 60-80k per trip through the solldier area in eden, after going 0/15 on turtles today, said fuck it and just started doing that, each battle isnt more than 30 seconds long anyway. Only need a few more upgrades 4 to be exact, so shouldnt take long.

105 hours, platinum complete, my first platinum trophy.

I really enjoyed the game, loved the story and really happy with it overall.

It actually has been posted before, from some guide but each debuff on the mob increases the chance to land death by 1% or something.

It's only natural that lowering an enemies magic resistances will help Death land... hence why it helps Death land.

I just got Aurora Scarves and Sprint Shoes for my main three and Auto-Bravery for Fang/Light. They have around 4000 HP, Hope has around 3000. What point can I start killing the Ochu for the egg? It's gonna take ages farming the Behemoth/Wolf without it.

    I beat Bart v2, so I haven't begun chapter 12 yet.

as I explore Pulse before I move onto chapter 12, having beaten Bart v 2.0, I have a couple thoughts...

    - this game is fucking ridiculously stingy with money/upgrade items. I feel like I have hundreds of accessories and at least five or six weapons per character, and I want to explore their upgrades but I'm deathly afraid of upgrading the "wrong" item. I guess I could just save and try different ones to see what the results are, or just use a FAQ, but it just seems wrong that I'm near the end of the game and have barely used the shops or the upgrade function, though I did purchase a few 100-point magic and strength accessories, since they're useful no matter what the situation. I'm just so afraid to spend gil since there's so little of it unless you grind for it specifically. this is a legitimate design choice, forcing you to be very careful about how you spend it, but I don't like it personally.

    - fuck. the. bird-men. hate them so much. they're not even that hard, just annoying as fuck. low-strength multi-hit attacks makes it harder to 5-star them (since their total strength is what your time limit is based on), they look stupid as hell dancing around aimlessly, and the noises they make, oh god the screeching. easily my least-favorite enemy, even worse than the worms in Oerba that do thousands of damage per hit in an AoE.

    - I've decided that my least favorite element in the game, moreso than even the dreaded linearity, is the enemy design. clearly they're trying to be unique and not use cookie-cutter monsters, but I just don't like how all the enemies, even the organic ones, look like robots or something. like, the bird men I mentioned above, they look absolutely ridiculous. the undead enemies look more like stone Golems, if they weren't named things like "Vampire" I wouldn't know they were supposed to be undead. and what the hell are those weird worm-looking things supposed to be? worms, I guess, but they're ugly as fuck and not in a cool way.

It's not all bad - Vetalas are pretty cool (though too similar to the Vampires), the bosses are usually great if not a bit abstract, and the wolves, behemoths, and turtles are all decent. but overall I just don't like the direction they took the enemy design in this game. and come to think of it, the Eidolons aren't that great either - why does Bahamut look less and less like a dragon with each passing FF game?

I still love the game, a lot more than I thought I would really. so I'm not trying to bitch here. just saying.
