Windower and ApRadar Illegal/Traceable?

Never played on PC before and now I'm almost done setting up FFXI on my new Laptop, People keep telling me ur going to love Windower and apRadar for all the cool feature's. They gave me a download place for both, but my question is would these get u ban for any reason?

In pure black-and-white terms, yes, they can get you banned.

But far too many people have been using them for too long for it to be causal. You would have to do something stupid that draws GM attention and then they could heap the 3rd party stuff on top of that.

While you probably won't get in trouble at this point for windower, believe me that detecting it is ridiculously easy if SE ever wanted to.

Of course, the fact that many people are doing something and the community thinks it's not going to be punished has proven false in the past...
