Eh forget resubscribing, forgot how horrible the credit card setup is, they always try to verify the address or some shit and since they don't allow # signs in the entry field I can't enter my address with the Apt # so it fails. Such utter failure on SE's part. No other site I have ever used my card on has ever failed due to the billing address not matching whatever they pull for verification, just SE.

I'll take my chances with the fact that they won't really check whether the accounts are registered or not.

I don't think so tbh, that's only for the French beta. I'd find it more likely only 100 French players get picked through that (mainly for translation help), as it would otherwise give French players a three times higher chance to get picked for the beta.

I'm sure a similar "german-only" beta chance exists for German players.

It does kind of sound like for the French side in general. 100 between 3 sites with probably 10,000 people signing up heh hand picking seems unlikely at that point.

if it's 100 only per site thats extremely low, and I'd just be surprised that SE would even offer this additional beta recruitment if they were only looking for 200/300 more ppl.. Doesn't make much sense. It's prolly just for the French site, but even then, 100 is very low

I would like to think that the SE is intelligently pushing these contests to get some of us to resubscribe in order to qualifiy. I know a number of people who have resubbed just for this or combination of this and the Vanafest announcements. They will probably have another one of these "drawings" for the first Closed Beta selections as well. If even one resubscriber gets in, they will have a lot more paying 12.95$ to them for a few more months. Its actually a pretty damn good money making scheme on their part.

As for numbers ... I am guessing they are specifically targetting the 3 non JP communities at this point. Grabbing 100 specifically German and French players would be something they may be trying to do. While the English speaking community sites cater towards an exponentially higher population than the other two. I am guessing at least 2 to 1 here if not higher. Id be hardpressed to believe that they would be doing this to add less than 500 people to the lists.

Think you could share the % of apps to the number that'll be accepted? Like 1% or 5% or whatever? People I think are more interested in their chances than know the exact number that are accepted.
