Yep, probably saving it til the end, theyre hiding it big time.

Gameshark was kept to a minimum. One dude who managed to own the DNAS server managed to hack to the point of getting the insane OICW that was in the programming exclusively for single player after clearing the highest difficulty campaign.
Voting was instituted, but people eventually found out if you keep your disc tray open, you couldn't be voted, all you needed to do was make sure you disc tray was closed when the level ended so it could load the lobby.
Still, even with all the glitches, it was STILL far and above the greatest online shooter I've ever played. I laugh at Halo/CoD fans. Socom-2, for its time period, was the greatest shooter game ever.
People actually died when you shot them in S1. S2 was fun, but it just went to the shitter any time you dealt with lag (which was often as some maps were permanent lagfests; FishHook and Vigilance) because the hit detection was so fucking awful.
S3 OTOH was the worst shooter I've ever played. lolCreditCards for friends list access.
trailer time

I personally loved it, it looks SO SICK. Obviously no gameplay footage revealed in it, but its clear they're incorporating MAG group/leadership aspects, although on a smaller size (SEALs dont roll in groups of 16 most of the time, so even thats a stretch, let alone MAGs 100+).
Cinematogrophy though looks sick, Zipper puts in the effort to make badass single player for a game people buy for online play.
thats epic , leave you with "thats it? WTF!!!! RARW RAGE"
Socom for life, brah. I remember the first time I played Socom 1 and immediately getting hooked. Played through 2, only played 3 for a short time cause I dedicated all my free time to FFXI :/. Great to hear that they're still making Socom games.
Socom was so great; I remember never playing halo or CoD until a good time after socom3 and I didn't know for the longest time that you could aim down your sights on CoD; I really think that's pretty cheap.. sniping and 3hkoing someone with a SMG? Bullshit.
Socom1 and 2 were really awesome but 3 did have the ol "snipe no cross" devil's road. Anyone remember that?
Most fun I ever had in FPS or third person was socom 3 devil's road no cross games. Didn't matter if they crossed or not but hoooly fuck was it exhilarating.
In the two "cities" right?
Ya I remember the one city that had a better shot down from the hill and some fags would come out to the side of the map and pick you off
Yeah, seals had the better side but both sides had the tiny little cement wall in the front you could prone behind but still shoot over.
I hope 4 is going to be as good as the other ones.
I remember Snipe no crossing. That shit was fucking fun haha.
I don't know if anyone else was familiar with playing "Gladiator" in Crossroads on Socom 2. Group of friends of mine would set up teams, and you could only use sniper rifles. You go to the VERY certain of the map (where the bomb's at), and you just go at it with sniper rifles, but you couldn't look down your scope. So you'd be jumping around trying to kill each other with snipers, and not be able to look down your scope. Shit was so fun.
Also paintball in Frostfire was dope. Honestly all these newfags that play MW2 or Halo, and think those games are the best ever missed out on some truly amazing shit when it came to SOCOM.
Hmm.. I remember Socom3 having the large 256 game limit rooms and then in each of those you had to join a game someone else made; has that been in Socom 1 and 2 also?
Socom-2 it was 256 man lobby rooms, but only 8 on 8 was the limit for a match, Socom 3 upped it to 16 on 16.
