A little slow, but I love the title lol.

Now for my random question: I just finished ASA (1/1 final fight, 5Smn Rdm ftw), but even though I've been thinking over it for ages I still don't know what ASA pants to get. I've limited it to:
    Desultor Tassets: Ranged Acc+7 Barrage+1
Desultor Tassets: Crit Hit Dmg+3% Attack+7
    Tatsumaki Sitagoromo: Phys Dmg-4% Movement+8%
    Tatsumaki Sitagoromo: Haste+3 Magic Acc+4

First is great for rng because of it's uniqueness, the only other barrage+ gear is AF+1 hands, and afaik they stack (right?)
Second is for Solo SA/TA. I currently use Enkidu's Subligar and Oily Trousers, i'm fairly certain the Crit/Att ASA pants would beat them, and again crit dmg+ is a rare stat for a thief.
The third set would be great idle pants, but I already have goliard for my PDT set (Which is sitting at 42/47%, missing darksteel leggings+1) which is only 1% less, and wlegs are obviously better for movement.
I expect it'll be a long time befor I get my hands on nashira, however these have more haste anyway and are probably the best dark legs (right?)
I don't want to repeat this fight though so I'm not looking for "something untill I get nashira".
I can't think of anything that'd be useful for drg, well of course Acc/Haste or Haste/DA are better but they're too ugly for that >.> As for rng, apart from barrage I see no other worthwhile augment. And for thf, it's an improvement of 4Acc over homam at the cost of looking hideous.

I think something for rdm would be the best option but I don't know what.
What would you recomend? Apart from those 2 rdm options above I've also been thinking of Haste/PDT, giving them 2 purposes...

    halp D:

Edit: Oh I guess PDT/Movement would be nice for brd too who has no movement stuff...

I've personally never seen this, ever. Never heard it reported either, really. I'd say it's an anomaly.

Well, as I said in the other thread, the crit damage while rare, is kinda meh for THF. If you do both head and legs, you get +5%. Do the math, IF you do 1000 damage and it's valid for the crit, you're only looking at +50 damage. X's knife works because as far as anyone is sure, it's 10% or over, and in a slot that doesn't have a lot of competition.

If I had jobs other than THF and SCH, like BST, SMN, COR, PUP, or DNC, I'd grab those augments in a heartbeat. I dunno much about Barrage, but I'm guessing if you get max hits frequently enough, you'll likely want that +1.

I'm pretty sure I've seen this discussed somewhere before, but I can't seem to find much about it now when I search. What is the minimum amount of people required to full clear city dynamis (and recommended setups)? What about not even full clear, but just go in and make some decent money/get a fair amount of af2? Also, what's the optimal setup for low manning other dynamis zones, like Xarc or even Tav?

My memory is a bit fuzzy, but I seem to remember my LS doing a city with an alliance + partial party.
Don't remember setup though, other than have a couple tanks, some sleepers, some healers, and a TH4/sac pull whore where needed, which isn't helpful at all.

depends on gear/team work/experience/skill but one alliance of decent players is enough to full clear sandy/bastok. i'd take 20~22 for windy/jeuno to be safe.

so many factors come into play but the most important part is whether the puller and sleepers are good. as long as you have these two, its all up to managing time and mp. ive ran a few dynamis LS' and buncha rogue runs but we've full cleared sandy/bastok with 14 or 15. i can imagine a super pimp LS full clearing with 10.

as for optimal set ups for xarc, i dont know what your job options are so i cant really say but i find it great to have one rdm/blm dedicated to sleeps. and blms can help with sleepga2 in case of links. the mobs are fairly strong so have DDs eat pizza and give them 4 songs or 2 songs 2 rolls if possible.

i usually set it up as:
2 parties of : brd, cor, DD/nin x3, rdm or whm
1 party of : blm x4, rdm/blm, brd or cor
one of the DD/nin is thf.
i find it more efficient without plds but add one in to the DD/nin if youre more comfortable that way.

tav is similar as above. it might be easier if one of the blm switched to whm.

edit: as for xarc, this thread is great

So I just started playing BST and I cant find any real GOOD information on it that's useful, other than some soloing camp guides. Can anyone point me to some good guides out there for BST? I'm about 36 now after a leveling spree, I went up about 6 levels today in 5 hours or so.

I was hoping someone might be able to point me to guides on rotating mobs with charm/leave for higher level/lower level pets, if rewards is actually worth while (with charmed pets or just jugs?), which jug pets seem best, etc...

I'd like to say I'd just play with the job myself, because that's the type of job it is, solo and dick around all day and just have some fun, but I really dont have the kind of gil to play around like that

8 people can full clear sandy/bastok.. typically would recommend 2 parties there or 3 for windy/jeuno/glacier though

    2 party setup is;

    DNC
    BRD
    COR
    Best DD x3

    RDM/WHM
    RDM/BLM
    BRD
    COR
    DD
    THF(hopefully they DD too)

RDM/BLM handles hastes for his own party, RDM/WHM watches main party. Both throw cures as needed/etc.

    For a 3 party setup it's simpler:

    DNC
    BRD
    COR
    Best DD x3
    (x2)

    RDM
    RDM
    RDM
    BLM
    BLM
    THF

assign each rdm a party to watch over, /blm one refreshes blms and hastes thf + watches sleepga

terrible use of your other buffers to have an inparty rdm over a dnc

Well over a year ago, yes, it didn't react until it was acted upon again. RNG failed to land an Ash on it so I gave it a shot on my monk several seconds later. Stood there for about fifteen minutes while we took our time gathering.

Didn't want to make a new thread for it, but was curious if anyone has experience with (any of) the five Fomor NMs of the past; what job setups and strategies worked best for taking them down? Anything special to be aware of?

In theory, with a ton of luck you could solo it on BLM. One kill + run until the last floor, getting at least three time boxes I'd say. Relying on a lot of time box pops from not a lot of mobs makes your odds of success pretty low, especially considering you'd have to store up time for the last floor. On the last floor you could just Sleepga, probably kill one or two and die, reraise, do it again. I really doubt this is a remotely time efficient way to do the zone though.

I've never leveled MNK to 75, but I imagine MNK/DNC has no chance.

    elvaan/galka
mana burn. everyone /nin. it casts B4/T4 when you cast on it when its idle.
its a good idea to have a rdm/nin spam cure1 on it.
galka uses paralyga and shockwave so its nice to have a whm/nin.
can be trioed. 9-12 ppl to be safe.

    hume/mithra
zerg with CS Stun. two parties is enough for both.
mithra has super high evasion so feint is a must, i recommend sushi too.
4 songs for each melees if you can.
mithra uses cyclone that does 300~700 dmg so have mages ready to cast curaga2-3 anytime.
make sure melees dont WS during mithra's PD.
12 ppl with decent gear to be safe.

    taru
DONT USE WS or ABILITY ON IT, ie voke, steal, jump. berserk, SA, and such is ok.
as long as you keep its level low, its not that bad.
mnkx2 thf whm rdm brd is ideal. have mages /nin. add in another DD and more healers to be safe.
good idea to have melees use 2hr in the beginning to rip its SS off.
uses stonega so mages need to be careful.
can be done with 1pt. 8~10 to be safe.

edit: all five of the fomors have really low enmity ceilings.
also, taru has stoneskin in the beginning so mages need to be super careful in the beginning.
and iirc, casting magic on taru raises its level as well, so no debuffs.

In a war zerg what weapon will produce the most damage? multi-hit gaxe/SAM, axe/ridill/NIN, just Perdu/Sam, or is there another combination I don't know about that would produce more than all 3.

    Bravura /SAM!

I wouldn't use Fort (multi-hit I assume you were talking about) because enough of your damage in a zerg comes from your starting WS, which is going to be gimped, that I can't see the longterm increase in damage being worth it.

Axe/Ridill with Feint and Mighty Strikes is attractive and I haven't done any math on it, but it lacks Hasso so I doubt it's very competitive.

    I'd stick with Perdu.

Edit: Oh yeah, for my question
What would you guys say is the average number of times Ix'Drk reraises? Some people tell me, like, 8. Personally I've seem to average in the mid teens though (last night was 15 or 16).

The number of Ix'DRK reraises is directly linked to how important the event is you are going to be doing just AFTER Ix'DRK dies. If you are rushing, it will reraise 40 times. If you have absolutely nothing else to do for the rest of the day, it won't reraise at all.

by solo I mean soloing mobs on the first floor and hoping for a item chest. Need some AF+1 mats

Considered a rune chopper for Gaxe on war? In a zerg you can just use a yagudo drink if the mages are lazy so that removes the one thing that stops me always using it in longer events.

when I duoed him for gil he never went over a handful. Usually 1-3 kills was all it took. Its just luck.

I dont think magic levels up taru but it does heal it if you cast damaging magic on it during a spellcast. The same is true for physical attacks on galka during a spellcast.

RDM/NIN tanks work well at galka/elvaan/taru just for the ability to actually grab hate on demand with a variety of spells. They don't really hit hard with magic so that also plays to RDM.
