Maybe Crab Sushi for melee, squid for ranger? Crab is like +12%, Rice Dumpling is like +5 acc.
I found http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/dos...e/555735/30728 , but I couldn't get the program mentioned to work with that particular file, but it may be a start for you.

I've got a few questions to ask. And by a few I mean a lot. I was hoping there'd be a eighth thread for this by the time I got home from work but as there's not I'll grudgingly aid in shitting this sticky up. Any answers given are fully appreciated.

    - Is Ninja still vastly superior to Paladin based on the undeniable fact that not getting hit is better than getting hit, no matter how little it is?

    - I see that some sites have DPS figured out for weapons. How was this calculated? I'm curious if it's a simple calculation based off damage and delay or whether it took into account other modifiers on the weapon.

    - Is there anywhere that has hard facts drawn up for specific things? I've learned over the years that very little in an MMO is subjective and can be confirmed with math. For example, before I quit, I put 5 points into Warrior's Double Attack merits and recall having a conversation with an old friend that it would be a higher DPS increase to drop four of those points to lower Berserk and Aggressor in sync. Stuff like that.

    - Is it true that they actually made two handed weapons as good as dual wielding? What did they do? Considering the gap was a chasm when I quit, I'm not sure the addition of straps made that much difference.

    - Following on from that, is it accurate that Samurai is the new subjob of choice for two handed users (or at least Warriors)?

    - This is a stupid question but, given near equal gear and skill, which melee does the most damage these days? And how big is the gap between them?

    - Did anyone ever advance the hilarity of counterstance tanking on Monk?

    - Is botting and RMT still relatively rampant?

    - Is it still annoyingly hard to make gil alone?

    - How many players is Nyzul Isle? I read 3-6 but is it realistic to clear all 100 floors with just three synergized jobs?

    - Is it true that non-Japanese players aren't too keen on doing MMM? If so, why? It was explained to me and sounded pretty damn fun.

    - Does Odin take a full alliance?

    - Outside of the warp NPC's, is it still generally time consuming to get around? Did they ever increase the frequency of airships and boats?

    - What creative use of level sync have people discovered? I was told of some weird parties involving Summoners in KRT and that people do merit parties in the old easy exp spots (Qufim Worms, Colibri, etc) but how is this reliably possible if someone needs to be that level to sync down to? Does it rely on always lucking out and finding someone of the appropriate level or is there some way to trick the system?

    - Did any player do anything remarkable in the past three years? Open ended question I know, but I mean like drastically undermanning something difficult.

    - How do Scholar and Dancer fit into the grand scheme of things?

    - Does ensuring a Thief gets the last hit massively increase the drop rate of every item in the game?!?!?

    - Finally, on a less sarcastic note; anyone in Japan want to buy WotG for me?

Paladin itself is a bit overused these days. With careful use of "Physical Damage Taken-" sets (hereafter referred to as "PDT sets"), many jobs are able to reduce their damage similar to a Paladin (though not as effectively) - however, since all jobs have access to Utsusemi and Seigan and other defensive abilities, combined with the fact that most endgame mobs don't actually hit that hard (when you -do- get hit), any job which can produce stable enmity (from spells or damage etc) can tank effectively.

NIN nowadays is just a weaker version of RDM, which is superior to Paladin on most things. However, since Paladin has Atonement (a new weaponskill which completely ignores enemy defence and deals damage based on enmity, capping at 720/750 damage - and it is easy to reach that cap) it is generally superior to Ninja (exceptions: Byakko lowman and Tyger too I hear for instance - anything where evasion tanking becomes viable and other methods are challenging).

    - I see that some sites have DPS figured out for weapons. How was this calculated? I'm curious if it's a simple calculation based off damage and delay or whether it took into account other modifiers on the weapon.
It's (damage*60) / delay or something. Not a very useful means of looking at weapons because it completely ignores ANYTHING that isn't DMG or Delay. Use it very loosely.

    - Is there anywhere that has hard facts drawn up for specific things? I've learned over the years that very little in an MMO is subjective and can be confirmed with math. Basically anything you can ask which can be modelled mathematically can also be solved mathematically. On your WAR merits example, I believe the consensus is that 5DA 5Berserk generally beats all other builds.

    - Is it true that they actually made two handed weapons as good as dual wielding? What did they do? Considering the gap was a chasm when I quit, I'm not sure the addition of straps made that much difference.
2handers now gain 3/4 of Atk or Acc from each point of STR and DEX instead of 1/2: this basically is like having a Haubergeon and then some's worth of attack and accuracy tacked on to what you already had. 2handed weaponskills were also beefed up a bit on the whole. Hasso is an incredibly strong JA also.

    - Following on from that, is it accurate that Samurai is the new subjob of choice for two handed users (or at least Warriors)?
Due to Hasso and Store TP, you are correct. It is almost impossible to beat the 10% Haste/10 accuracy/5STR from Hasso combined with the increased weaponskill frequency from a 6 hit or whatever.

    - This is a stupid question but, given near equal gear and skill, which melee does the most damage these days? And how big is the gap between them?
Shit is situational as always, but common consensus is that WAR and SAM lead the pack, DRK and the other 2handers are slightly behind that and then come the 1handers. MNK fluctuates wildly based on the buffs available (on anything that isn't a "boss" though, MNKs tend to be very strong).

    - Did anyone ever advance the hilarity of counterstance tanking on Monk?
Not sure I get the reference I'm afraid it is nowadays a very common way to tank in Salvage though.

    - Is botting and RMT still relatively rampant?
    Even moreso than usual.

    - Is it still annoyingly hard to make gil alone?
Generally not if you are smart and/or have RDM75.

    - How many players is Nyzul Isle? I read 3-6 but is it realistic to clear all 100 floors with just three synergized jobs?
3-6 is correct and you can finish with 3 but sometimes Nyzul just likes to throw horrendous floors at you and more (competent) people adds an extra safety net. I think 3 competent people > 1 competent person + 5 dumbasses though. Even one dumbass can screw up a Nyzul.

    - Is it true that non-Japanese players aren't too keen on doing MMM? If so, why? It was explained to me and sounded pretty damn fun.
You have to grind marbles and the mazes aren't particularly intuitive to set up. They're also a lot less dynamic than you might expect from SE's description of them.

    - Does Odin take a full alliance?
Nah, you can take 36 into the chamber but I've personally cleared with less than an alliance a few times and so have a lot of linkshells.

    - Outside of the warp NPC's, is it still generally time consuming to get around? Did they ever increase the frequency of airships and boats?
Airships and boats are the same, but if you use Outpost warps/Tele Rings/etcetc it's not -too- bad.

The most common creative use of level syncing is astral burning where a puller drags basically an entire lowbie zone like Korraloka Tunnel onto a single spot where 4~ or so Summoners Astral Burn the entire set into the ground, earning a huge amount of exp in a small amount of time. The beauty of this is that the job of the person they sync to (around level 12) is entirely irrelevant, so it is very easy to find someone most of the time.

And yeah, in pickup parties there is still the element of luck involved but this typically isn't a problem.

    - Did any player do anything remarkable in the past three years? Open ended question I know, but I mean like drastically undermanning something difficult.
I honestly couldn't begin to mention this. 6man Jorm? Dunno if you were around for those.

    - How do Scholar and Dancer fit into the grand scheme of things?
Scholar is a very versatile mage with the ability to modify spells, such as make them AoE etc. It is a rival to BLM on the nuking front and a capable healer, let down only by the fact that while the level cap is 75, it is unable to Haste.

Dancer is a semi-DD which can use its TP to heal people and buff the party with a mini Blood Weapon effect (HP or MP) or Haste. It is criticised at endgame due to the difficulty of building TP on certain monsters or in certain strategies.

    - Does ensuring a Thief gets the last hit massively increase the drop rate of every item in the game?!?!?
    Thiefs increase drop rates?

Silver Sea Remnants, 2nd floor, accoring to OtherWiki:

"After opening one of the doors (SE, NW, NE, SW) the rest of the doors become sealed and unpassable."

Does this refer to opening a door towards a large room, or opening a door to a 3rd floor porter? Essentially what I'm looking for, is it possible to do Powderkeg Yanadahn (Macha's Slops) and Gyroscopic Gear (Freya's Gloves) in the same run?

Once you open a side (E or W), the other side is sealed off.

Only thing I can think of if you don't want to buy Pixie is switch Marine boots with Pahluwan Crackows. STR+3 vs Dex+1 and Accuracy+3.

    PLD is superior to NIN for byakko lowman. 6-7 man with 2 PLD/NIN + 1 DD/THF = 12-15min kill.

good dread spikes build does 1k per cast on a 90 sec recast, x2 drks = 1k/45 secs = 900 secs = 15 min to kill with dread spikes alone

can also souleater, constant stuns add breathing room, drain/2 does decent damage, and you should never be at risk of being one shotted

    Two questions:

1.) Did SE specifically mention BLM getting meteor or is that just speculation? If so is there a link?

2.) Has anyone bought/sold an Aureole recently? If so what did you buy/sell it for? I've had a bazaar comment up on ffxiah.com for awhile at 25m but with Odin closed up until very soon I didn't have any messages at all. Wondering if I'm way low or there's just none for sale.

    Thanks!

There's only quite a few Aureole's on Odin if I'm not mistaken and it's pretty much my understanding that AV items are rarely, if ever sold, unless to fund something like a relic. I know Mar's Ring was going for nearly 40m a few months back. I imagine 25m for a Ranged weapon with M.Acc+8 is actually kind of lowballing the figure, as a throwing weapon for SCH pulling in dynamis/einherjar/even just for the M.acc+8 is absolutely amazing. If I were you I'd suggest offering more, or just doing a bit of research into shells who had the chance to actually kill AV before the patch and see what those shells would want for an Aureole, however I personally think the item is priceless.

Thanks for the advice. I'm just hoping with Odin opening back up I'm able to get a few offers. The only reason I posted 25m was because a few months ago when I asked someone said 15m was the going rate, I figured +10m would be smart, but maybe they were wrong.

It was stated on the Live Video Feed along with the rest of the job changes, and translated via the NA Tweet team. 50 threads about the event, so not going to bother searching for it.

    Question of my own:
Atonement - I remember ther once was no way to increase damage, but then Light Gorget was tested and we saw an increase, but now wiki is saying Aqua and Flame also work.

I couldnt find any of the original testing threads, so can some one sum up it up for me? Do all three of these gorgets work? Is one better than the other? How much damage do the gorgets increase? Is there any other ways to increase damage? And what is the ideal WS set for it?

    Thanks.

Best set to WS in is your Enmity set, since DMG stays the same anyway.
