As I currently stand, without food or buffs, my hit rate on Lv.82 Greater Colibri is 83%. With my previous set of rings (Toreador/Ulth's), it'd be 82%, so there is a 1% hit rate difference.

Swapping to Toreador/Rajas would drop the hit rate to 81%. Double Toreador would raise it to 84%.

Lava's/Kusha's/Cuchulain's would increase my hit rate to 86% - and replacing Ethereal with Hollow (which I should have done long ago) will boost that further to 88%.

From there, getting hit rate higher becomes tougher as the only slots you might want to play with are weapon, neck and rings. Ancient Torque, Peacock Charm, double Toreador Rings are worth looking at.

Peacock Charm over Faith Torque would give me a hit rate of 90%. Ancient Torque would also give me a hit rate of 90%.

Switching out Destroyers for Hades Sainti would boost my hit rate to 92%, and if I got an HQ pair somehow, it'd be boosted to 93%. I'm honestly not sure if that's worth the loss of critical hit rate +6%.

Swapping to Hades Sainti and Peacock Charm would have me at 93%. Peacock and Hades+1 at 94%. Ancient Torque and Hades+1 at 95%.

Of course, I can't afford a Hades Sainti +1 or an Ancient Torque at the moment, so I still think getting a Cuchulain's Mantle, Hollow Earring and just sticking with Kusha's & Lava's for now are my best options.

STR and DEX are always nice, but I don't think they beat out straight accuracy if you are not capped. Store TP, while great - never seemed to do very much for MNK. At most, you might shave a hit off of 100TP - but MNK takes ~19-20 hits to get there anyway, With attack rounds yielding 0-5 hits each, it's very likely that you'll hit 100TP in the middle of an attack round anyway.

Also, I forget the math, but I think Store TP is doing all it can for me at this point - without going into weird Store TP builds... (I TP in +14 Store TP) with my overall delay being 368 (320 base + 48 destroyers).

You are doing something wrong, sorry. 82% with full usu ? Eat sushi, end of the story.

Also tor vs rajas has been beaten to death now, rajas is always about 5% weapon skill frequency, monk pup thf w/e.

That's without Focus, and only on the highest level birds, and according to a 'accuracy calculator'. I usually wind up parsing closer to 88% if I'm lazy/cheap on food after the birds eat it.

I haven't merited since last year - as I just came back recently, but my "other" gear is Faith Torque, Black Tathlum, Brutal Earring, Ethereal Earring, Black Belt, Amemet +1 - and rings at the time were Toreador and Ulthalam's.

Like I said, I've had my accuracy parse as high as 92% (if I'm anal about food), and on a bad day (tired, didn't replenish food after Snatch Morsel, didn't use focus) I had it at 83%. Numbers are what they are... it's not like I'm running off fighting Lurkers in between battles and using Blind Potions.

At that accuracy, Rajas > Toreador's if you're getting at least 1fSTR from it.

This is on trolls... the two other DD were both WAR/SAM. Not sure on troll evasion, but I was ~90% accuracy.

Getting a new PC soon, and I've some questions that I figured would be best answered here since the only PC game I play is FFXI. Maybe FFXIV when it comes out if it's any good, but that's not the point.

I've heard many horror stories about Nvidia cards, specifically the 8xxx series. Should I just go with ATI? I've never heard much about them, good or bad. Only problem is I have no idea which ones are considered good and what their "numbering" system indicates. I do know I'd like to get an HD card, but that's about it.

I'm definitely not going to go with Vista, have it on this laptop and it sucks so hard. Better than it used to be but argh, not dealing with this BS again. Should I go with XP, or jump to 7? 32 or 64 bit? Does XP (32 or 64) support more than 3 gigs of RAM?

What kind of processor would be "good"? I've heard that Duo/Quad processors can screw with FFXI, is this true? And if so, is there a way around it? Don't like the idea of having to gimp my processor selection to function properly with FFXI.

With these things in mind, is it possible to get a prebuilt PC from Fry's or Best Buy or even Sam's Club and match the basic criteria? (Video card I can purchase separately if it has everything else.) Reason I ask is because there's a lot of combo deals that come with wireless keyboard/mouse and a nice huge HD monitor, like bigger than my TV. Looking around at monitors separately (the wireless KB/mouse aspect is not a deal breaker, don't care if it's wired) it seems it would be much more expensive to buy it separately.

Looking to spend under, or right around, a grand.

Soooo, yeah, any help would be appreciated. Advice for anything to look out for that I didn't specifically ask is also appreciated. :D

Also, needing a new router. Is N or N+ really that much of an improvement for gaming? Also which company, idk if Linksys is still the preferred manufacturer.

Royale Ramble KSNM page on wiki has me confused. I'm trying to think of potential low-man/multi-box strats, but everything I can come up with for me and my friend considering our current jobs involves magic being used on Cardians (stun, diaga at minimum). There's a whole lot of contradictory info on the Discussion page about skillchains and enfeebs causing rage, and nothing at all about stun. Does anyone have any info on this, especially on stun? I know Head Butt and Violent Flourish are fine, but neither me or my friend have blu or dnc at 75 (yet).

There was a big discussion on this forum about a week ago, the consensus was no one knows. Some insist that magic does nothing, other insist that you will get your shit fucked if you cast. The only thing I can say is to give a try and see what happens to you.

Edit: Here's the link to thread. http://www.bluegartr.com/forum/showthread.php?t=89822

Looking for a solid duo strategy for Requiem of Sin, two players with the following jobs available:

#1 RDM PLD BRD COR WAR SCH

#2 RDM NIN DRK THF PLD some other stuff I don't know

You'd probably have the most luck with RDM + RDM or SCH + RDM, Kaeko posted a guide that might help.

Question from a friend I didn't know answer to:

What's the order in which the game checks a hit? Evade > Shield Block > Counter > Parry > Guard > Hit? Am I missing any other things?

Trying to remember here, but I think it's:

    Evade > Utsusemi > Counter > Shield > Parry > Guard > Hit

I honestly have no idea on Counter and Shield though...

Also, magical blink is kinda tricky, since it's not guaranteed to work, even if you have shadows up - and I'm not sure how it works if you cast Blink on yourself with Utsusemi shadows already up...

Why would you use a MMM rune that makes you unable to cast magic inside?

    is there a positive effect?

did mine with rdm/nin( maybe /blm I forgot) + blm/rdm. So it should be possible with rdm*2 or rdm+sch even. The strategy was as follow:

    Start with ES sleepga2.

Chainspell bind the rabbit/wyvern, chain nuke the left most mithra ( BST). It will die fast. Try also to kill the wyvern, it won't repop before another 20 minutes. At this point we could kite but we found it more time efficient to die and reraise; The rabbit pet will not aggro when you reraise, but will link, so die very far in a corner.

Once one of the mithra is dead and the rabbit is singled out far, its really easy: kill the wyvern if you didn't kill before, BLM solo the DRG ( rdm can help) and RDM kites the last mithra, keeping DoTs on, and BLM finishes the last mithra + rabbit when he has MP.
