As much as that sounds like bullshit, I really have no evidence against it. There's absolutely no way that having 75 BST main has no effect on one's ability to charm things as /BST, though. That I have plenty of experience with.

Most all BST testing was done pre 2004. At one point the sub thing was true, who knows if it is now or not. SE did come out and say that they were adjusting how BST worked as a sub, but im not going to dig around update notes to find it.
As mentioned, not only was the sub tested, but as well as the duration. Original testing is who knows where, but the data can be found on http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Charm
Charm duration would be an interesting test. 75BST/XXX vs XXX/75BST vs XXX/37BST, charm an EM mob and see how long it lasts. Make sure the BST main isnt wearing Charm+ gear, the amount of CHR doesnt matter though.
Are you people being serious? The idea that the level of your BST having nothing to do with landing charm is absurd.
Level affects charm success and duration.
nvm
I definitely accepted the "BST main level matters" thing for years, but I've met multiple people who have claimed it doesn't matter at all. My BST is 57, so if this isn't resolved by tomorrow I'll take a 75 job, set my CHR to be the same as my 57 BST's, and charm some EM crap. There's no way my 57BST would have a snowball's chance in hell of charming level 75 stuff, so if the result turns out to be anything but 5% stick rate I'd consider the myth busted.
Actually, if you look above that test has already been done. I don't know why this is still a debate if a 75DRK / 37 BST has a non-floored charm rate against a DC pugil. I could take my BST out there and die 100 times to pugils to prove that you guys are being silly, but I just don't see the point.
Also, maybe soloing La'Vaule just got faster?

Brutal is the wrong earring choice for Thief WSs? (DE & EV)
Are they correct? Is Pixie/Delta (5 Dex 2 Chr) better than Pixie/Brutal for uncapped acc?
What about Evisceration?
Does brutal pull ahead to become the best choice again at capped acc?
What about other job WSs? Is brutal the wrong earring there too?
(Please no "lol no, use brutal" replies, would really like to see a mathologist's workings)
Also does anyone kow if DA or TA is checked first?
Can blu and dnc land their enfeebles on Odin in einherjar? With a decent success rate? Never taken either to odin :s
Or what about the offensive abilities of blu big 3 or SA cannonball?
Best ASA reward for a career MNK?
- I already have Usukane pants, Byakko's Haidate and Shura Haidate +1, so I'm pretty well covered with damage dealing.
- I have Hermes Sandals, so the pants would be useless (or a downgrade) if I went for movement speed.
- I also have relic pants, AF+1 pants and Kensei Sitabaki - fwiw.
I'm seeing very little that's actually useful.
The best I can come up with is:
Waltz TP Cost: -5
Conserve TP: +5
I figure those might be useful for the extremely rare fight where I sub /DNC, and can only survive by spamming the everlasting hell out of Curing Waltz II.
Nothing of value, only reason I haven't touched ASABest ASA reward for a career MNK?
I did it last night, as some one who needed the win with 0 key items, I got all 16 buffs. The guy who took us in had 16. So as far as I can tell, the person who takes you all in needs 1+ (and therefore all 16) but everyone else can get away with none.
We didn’t win (DD decided to fight in the circle despite being told to pull it back) so I didn’t get to see if you can still get reward with 0 hexes.
NB: This is the second time I have done the fight, the first time (also lost) I collected all 16. Don’t know if that makes any odds.
How does your shell handle pulling/crowd control in Einherjar (specifically Wing III)? Especially who does it and how?
Pld (we bring at least one) pulls, bases size of pull on the mob type and mp. Once in range brds sleep, blms/rdms stack sleep. We have a rdm or pld in PDT cure the sleepers and max hate moves to keep stuff off sleepers. Dual targeting or single targeting depends on the mob.
Only really annoying mobs in t3 are clusters and high HP black dragons. Stun the clusters, and keep the black dragons silenced and stun body slam.
DA is checked first (it is possible to Double Attack an Assassin's Charge WS).
And yes, that information is accurate (I was surprised too but I had this discussion with them awhile back).
Basically, roughly speaking:
Dancing Edge has fTP of 5.1875 total, 6.1875 total if Dual Wielding (no Gorget in either case). 5% Double Attack adds 1 fTP 5% of the time.
1/5.1875 = 19.3% improvement. Multiply this by 5% and you get +0.964%, which is very easily beaten especially on a low base damage job. Note that this increase will be even smaller if dual wielding, if using gorget etc...
This logic seems fine to me anyway, although it appears a bit simple too...
