I'm considering working on some of the new Magian weapons, but confused as what to aim for.

I'm interested in Scythe, Polearm, Katana, and possibly GKT/Dagger?

As for scythe, from what I've read here on the forums, the OAT scythe, is definitely the best, and same goes for the polearm, I believe?

For a katana, do any of the new ones, beat out senji/pedu combo? Does the Moku with dmg +7 replace senji? I didn't think it would, but I could be wrong...

Is dagger worth the trouble, if you already have a Sirocco's Kukri, and you're not a Mandau/X's Knife/Blau Wielding Main THF? It's more of a farming job I suppose (for me personally)>

For the last question, not worth it if you're mainly using it to farm. Marginal increase from sirocco, as per Shamaya's math.

As for the GK question, I think the general consensus is it's better than hagun by the same amount that hagun is better than onimaru (4-5%, mdkuser's math I believe). Though I'm still waiting on an answer if it's better than hagun even in situations where the mob has high defense (JoL, hnm etc.). So if that's answered in this thread and it's a yes, I'm definitely putting the GK at the top of my priorities, as I don't have a hagun and if I can save 2 mil, yay for me.

Voyager Sallet is also a viable option for head piece use on Big 3, provided you don't have Maat's Cap or Gnadbod Helmet. For Cannonball, could also try Wivre Mask +1 (STR +3 VIT +3), and if you are Hume, the level 62 RSE feet.

For Big-3, how does the Mirage hat compare to a MKdE hat with STR/DEX+4?

I have 8/8 Blue Magic merits, and should have capped ACC with food, for those situations in which I actually use BLU.

Not very much. Matter of demand, really. Just like HQ PDT and MDT used to be cheap. The Jinpachi is a NIN's best ninjutsu nuking headpiece, and it's also 1 more enmity than Arhat's Jinpachi +1. 1 enmity isn't worth that much and NIN is a pretty dead job so your best bet is to find someone who cares about ninjutsu nukes (a good soloing tool, mind you). I'd buy it for uh, 500k or so.

Yes, you can kill it with nothing but BLMs. SCHs, RDMs, and WHMs help but are not necessary.

Defense doesn't change the math significantly since neither weapon affects your attack, so Kuro still wins on high level/defense mobs.

To follow on all of the BLU questions:

Mirage Keffiyeh is a flat 2 base damage increase to any physical spell without a VIT mod. ie, not the "big 3"

Frenetic Rip/Disseverment: 20% STR 20% DEX

1 base D from fSTR + 8*0.2*0.83=2.329; unless alpha keeps you from getting 1+ base D from WSC the MKD hat wins.

Hysteric Barrage: 30% DEX

1 D from fSTR + 4*.3*0.83=1.996; they'll be equal in most situations but again if alpha flooring keeps you from gaining 1 base D from the DEX then the Keffiyeh will be superior.

Defense does affect the outcome a bit, because the more defense the mob has the higher the WS/TP ratio is and the more Hagun wins.
