PLD, tanking in general. Probably for anything that isn't gods, since we have a bard and I cap recast with double march.

Don't bother with it for PLD. Any time your tp doesn't matter (inb4 rdm) and you're worried about recasts you should have enough support to keep it capped.

k, note taken. I hate building ISP anyway. I just see some PLD's carrying the thing around, and was curious.

This is super true. If you have pole-arm on sam for pentathrust, its a breeze.
Its a great way to make money since its super easy and fast ,,, if you have good luck. on a side note, MNK and BLU can solo that BC too. not sure about other jobs.

i use sentinel shield when im near cap on acc on whatever im fighting.
i find it great for campaign mostly though. or on some occasions when i get hunters or madrigal. but yea, sentinel shield is great when atonement is a reliable damage/enmity source and you can get a nice accuracy rate.

its one of those nice switch and swap gear pretty much and im very satisfied with it. i carry a size 1 shield, enmity, haste, and acc shield.

when i first did it (i used a GKT iirc), i brought an i. wing, 10 h-pots, crab sushi, and a vile, to be safe. i used all of them and failed on my first attempt though ></

no such thing as a dumb question. i use taliqua HQ, acc5 eva5, size 2.
fairly cheap and looks awesome.
for enmity i use koenig (dont want to invest in tower nor kaiser) and light buckler for size 1 (cant get my hands on simba). light buckler is nice with its skill+5 anyway. the only situation i use size 1 is when im solo-tanking or when shadows cant keep up so the extra skill helps a little.

Hmm, that tariquah shield seems pretty cool. Since I don't have sword merits, I sometimes have some acc. problems if I don't use sushi. If I use sushi though, I often hit for 0 on higher defense NM's like Genbu or Archaic Gears. I want to be able to have good accuracy, while being able to eat pizza. Perhaps the smaller shield size could be helpful for ichi casting in case shadows go down also, considering the higher block rate?

You'll be more likely to get shadows back up with a buckler, and you'll also take a lot more damage in the long run too. You shouldn't have that much of a problem with shadows to the point where a size one buckler is worth it, because if your shadows are down that often you'll be better off with greater damage reduction. As far as Tariqa+1, the ACC is nice sure but again you're sacrificing a lot of damage reduction for a small gain.

Hmm. I was also debating whether losing the enmity+3 on the shield would be worth it. I seem to do fine just using sushi on any other NM, because the ones I hit for 0 on are not very common. Maybe I could just find accuracy in another slot, or even just try pizza with my current setup.

its difficult to say since i dont know what gear options you have but in my case, i would wear a mix-match of haste and acc gear and use pizza. i would like to go further in depth but im done with work and im going to bed.

yes, exactly as you say on the smaller size shields. it works great with shield-mastery. if you want to be super dandy, you can full merit iron-will and put in another gear to interruption rate to 100%.
