Joshua, Valve: Well, of course you can play two-player splitscreen on one PS3. But otherwise, it works the way Steam play does now — you can only be logged into one device at a time.

It'll probably link to the initial Steam account registered, when you link it to your PSN, making it so that you need to be logged into your Steam account to access cross-platform play. Not really surprising, but I agree that it's disappointing, I was hoping for it too.

It's probably just going to be a demo, or maybe even a short game to bridge the gap between portal 1 and 2. I don't think they would screw over everyone who preordered the physical copy.

Really, I'd be ok with any of these things. But you're ignoring a lot more signs than just this countdown clock if you think it isn't for the digital release.

Don't forget that for all you know retailers are going to start putting their copies on the shelf at the same time. You don't know how deep this rabbit hole goes.
