You don't need the potatoes for this phase. Just need to log game time.

The big question is, is how many retailers are going to actually release it early and not just stick to a tuesday release?

Think you are a day off... Right now it has 62 hours left, which puts it at Tuesday Morning at 8:30 EST. With 11 of the games left to decrease the time and so far have been 45 minutes each, would only take off 8 hours and 15 minutes putting it right after midnight.

For myself, I have to wait for UPS to get to my door Tuesday either way. (Going with Amazon's deal)

ending write-up, needless to say i'll spoil pretty much everything about the plot with this. You've been warned:

    Spoiler: show
The british unit that starts the game with you ends up being the big end boss. GlaDoS helps you destroy it. After it dies, GladoS saves Chelle, and basically says "you were my enemy but were actually my best friend. It's too hard to kill you, so just go away. Chelle gets taken up an elevator to 4 machine gun turrets which train their laser sights on Chelle. They pause, then deactivate. The elevator goes up farther to a room with thousands of turrets which begin the end song (which blows compared to the first game's song). At the very top, Chelle opens up a hatch into an endless field of grain, in the setting sun. She walks out, and that's the end.

Valve VP of Marketing Doug Lombardi has revealed Portal 2 for PlayStation 3 Steam details today for fans, as follows:

A few months back, Valve announced some initial details of Steam’s debut in the PS3 version of Portal 2.

While people were excited to hear about the PS3 game’s inclusion of Steam access to Portal 2 on any PC or Mac, they also had a bunch of questions.

So, here’s a bit more info about Steam on the PS3.

Portal 2 for PlayStation 3 is the first title to support Steam on a console. Specifically, that means it offers cross-platform matchmaking, gameplay, friends, chat, and achievements, all powered by Steam.

Steam on the PS3 also saves co-op game progress and single player saved games to the Steam Cloud, enabling players to pick up where they left off on any PlayStation 3.

Steam makes its appearance on the PS3 as an overlay within Portal 2. Here, the Steam overlay provides access to Steam Friends, displaying their in-game or online status and providing a quick pathway to text chats, player profiles, friend requests, and game invites. Steam Achievements are earned in lockstep with PSN Trophies and are also accessible within the Steam overlay.

Steam on the PS3 provides access to all of these features once the player has linked their PlayStation Network account with a Steam account, which is done right within the game. A Steam user can login to an existing account, and anyone new to Steam can create an account with the click of a button.

With all these features, Portal 2 on the PS3 is the best console version of the game, just as it was suggested it would be back at E3 last year. If you’re still hungry for more details, head over to steampowered.com and learn more about Portal 2 for PS3.

Today Portal 2 has been confirmed as the first PS3 3.60 Firmware encrypted game, however, as it spreads on torrent sites PlayStation 3 hackers are already examining potential work-arounds to get the game running for PS3 Custom Firmware users.

    To quote:
We all knew this day would be coming, just like before with the v3.50!

Yep, all the rumors were right! -- Portal 2 would be the first game that was pressed using the currently unreleased APP v3.60 keys!

If you are looking to enjoy the sequel to the acclaimed Valve’s puzzle-action hybrid, the Portal 2, then you need to learn to setup your own portal, because playing it on a 3.55 CFW console right now is not possible.

You are looking at different sets of method being tested such as the famous PARAM.SFO editing, EBOOT decrypting, it’s just useless without the 3.60 keys. To say that the upcoming L.A. Noire is on the same ride will be my heartbreaking May moment.

So, I hope someone will find the solution for this or just roll on the 3.60 CFW already! But remember to eat some cheese with all that wine!

Doubtful as a direct continuation/tie-in like this. But it's certainly possible as just a brand new story or somesuch. On one hand they'd be foolish to let this "series" die considering it's popularity (and of course assuming 2 sells well, but that's almost guaranteed), on the other... this is Valve we're talking about.
