It's cross platform. The reason you'd want to buy the PS3 version is because you get the pc for free anyway. Then it'd be up to you which to play.

No, playing with the gf. We want full screen co-op. You can play co-op on your PS3 with PC users. You get a code for the Steam download for you PC when you buy the PS3 version. Put the PC in the same room as the PS3. ????. Play games.
But I was saying that you need to register the code on EVERY PS3 account if you plan to play with PC users, which destroys my plans(if true).
^That's what I wanted to hear, thanks. Stores close at 10 tonight too.
Just beat single player, ending was beyond awesome. Was kind of hoping it'd be longer though.
Anyway, can you only get skins/etc. by buying them?
Also, to clarify even further. Have your girlfriend (or you) link her PSN account to her steam account (might need to make a new one). I think it may be easier to add each other as friends if you log on your steam account on a PC and add each other as friends.. I haven't messed with the steam overlay much but it seems hard to add friends on the PS3 steam overlay.
Just if you are using a PC code, make sure you link it to the PSN-Steam Combo you want, because that is permanent.
I got a bunch of skins, gestures and accessories last night after playing co-op for a few hours, but when I played earlier today the skins were gone. Didn't really do a thorough check but there were probably a couple other things missing too. I still have my mustache and at least one gesture though.
I'm guessing it's similar to the TF2 system where most of the store items can be acquired through random drops.
Just beat single player. my god. So good. people who are complaining about length are REALLY gonna miss out on one of the best games of the year. This is what video game art is.
just beat coop and single player. fun stuff, really enjoyed the game. though, i don't get the store for coop... there's like very little replayability to warrant buying skins for the bots =\
There is a tab for DLC, so we'll probably see challenge maps, more co-op, etc..
Hopefully Valve doesn't charge for maps.
If Valve is like they are for L4D2, they'll charge for Xbox cause microsoft is douchey and the PS3 and PC versions will be free due to the linkage!
I went ahead and bought it. Can't connect to steam on the PC so going to bed.
Just did about an hour of co-op with a buddy of mine, fun and hilarious since we weren't using any voice communication. We didn't think ahead to pick a gesture to say "SHOOT PORTALS" so spent about 5 minutes or so with him putting a beacon near me, with me going "I'M FUCKING STANDING HERE ALREADY" and then I finally had that "ah-ha" moment.
Just finished single player, some of those levels near the end were very satisfying to beat. And of course, the ending was fantastic.
Spoiler: show
Did single earlier when I woke up and about to do co-op finally with a friend, really liking the game so far! Hopefully they come out with more DLC in the near-future for single player.
When I first started, this game really ripped through my CPU.. talking like 90% + usage, until I disabled the 'use multiple core' option. Didn't really effect how the game ran, but cut the CPU usage in half. Also.. lack of v-sync working while in window mode isbut alas.
Oh I did get the whole valve complete pack, the rest of the games just took forever to show up. So worth the potato sack price.
Just finished single player. Magnificent. I couldn't believe how long it was... Loved the new mechanics. Can't wait to co-op this shit.
Finished Co-op last night (took around 8 hours). Some puzzles took a little to figure out and personally I loved how many times it felt like we were bullshitting the level or how many times we were thinking "there is no way this is supposed to be done this way".
Overall it was a very enjoyable experience, although I wish it had been longer.
Off to try single player now.
