I started listening to the commentary and one of the devs said they built most of the environment with "impossible spaces" to build the concepts of puzzles around (rooms larger on the inside than outside, infinite loops, etc.) and after everything was said and done, they removed them all except one and to try and find it.

Any idea where this would be?

My only guess is that the old "Enrichment Spheres" seem way bigger on the inside than the outside...

Not sure where one would be in the game itself, but I did see a video of similar things in the SDK that could end up making some interesting maps.

Hmm... Considering that the blueprints of the Borealis reveal that there are indeed Material Emancipation Grids on board, there's a pretty good chance that there might be some items in the Borealis that you won't be able to remove.

Still, Valve has set the timelines up, set up all the intrigue... and since they cut the Gordon/Alyx love scene, maybe Chell will meet up with you. :3 Possibly to briefly team up and use her ASHPD to get you around within a chapter, as to not leave it with you and open up a world of portal possibilities to make outdoor level design a living hell.

Oh yeah:

It has been stated by Gabe Newell in an October 2007 interview that Chell has importance in the overall Half-Life universe, and will eventually have a fairly significant relationship with some of the other characters that we are already familiar with.

Looking back on the game I take back what I said. Despite liking Portal 2 better still, the puzzles were really easy with the exception of like the last two Wheatley puzzles. Even then they were pretty derp once you figure them out... -.-;;

Those World portals look interesting though.

I'm dl'ing portal 1 to play it again but I remember there being some sort of map pack expansion thing (may have been fan made) but I can't remember the name of it. Googling brings up a ton of different maps so I can't find it.
