Seems newish. All the crosslinks started earliest on 4 March. I hope it doesn't hit me too, I just ordered an i7 to upgrade my old gaming machine from NewEgg.
tl:dr whole thread, we're they just display/model box test copies? Looks like those are the test molds to make sure everything fits properly in the manufactured boxes.
how can you tldr 3 sentences.
he meant the thread
lucky for me, i got my LEGIT one for like 120 or so from that intel retail edge deal. mootsfox saved me some bills in my wallet. i owe that nagger some grape drink or something for helping me out big time.
holy fuck. im bout to drop serious money in like 2 weeks on a new build praying this shit doesnt happen to me ~.~
i just ordered about 3,000$ worth of stuff from newegg couple weeks ago including a new computer build xD but everything seemed legit.
I'm pretty sure if you've worked in retail before you've come across something like this this.. employees steal something and stuff the box with dummy items & reseal.. Looks like something similar happened here.
I highly, highly doubt someone went through the process of making a heat sink mold, and putting it in the retail box just to steal it. That mold has to weigh almost nothing compared to the the aluminum heat sink Intel provides in box. So I can't see this as thievery.
these were fake CPUs that newegg bought from their distributor and didnt bother to check them out, quite obviously fake from the horrible lettering, spelling errors, and just meh box.
newegg got a generic message from their dist saying they were demo boxes but thats just them trying to safe face![]()
