Hah well, I think this is pretty standard behaviour for arab 20 somethings without too many brains, particularly if they're affluent. In their younger years they get sponsored by parents or their government for an education, and while they're doing that they get to see Europe or North America, all wide eyed and naive. They usually make some white friends which usually makes them pick up some nasty habits like going to shitty night clubs, drinking large amounts shitty alcohol, eating pork, and casual sex. After a couple of years of this they start feeling some pretty crushing religious guilt (and that religious guilt can occur even if they don't do any of the things I mentioned), and see their current spiritual demise as proof of the inherent evils of western culture. Then they catch a plane back home, their parents drag them off to Hajj and set up a respectable marriage with a nice arab girl from a good family who wears the hijab. Pop out four or five kids in the next four or five years, finally embrace that bigoted anti-west propaganda that pervades the middle east, rinse lather repeat as the generations change.

but there are other results to this,

while the 20 something arab is in the west learning and studying, he starts to pick their habits and somehow that religious guilt never comes to him...
then embraces their lifestyle and slowly becomes a secularist, or even an atheist.


some of them dont even come back to their families, just marry someone (gay or straight) from the west and chills there.

now is that a happier ending for you?
