    Getting my first tattoo

So come thursday, I am popping my tattoo cherry and getting my first tattoo. I am one of those buyers, who researches months before a purchase, and loves to be in control when I do. Knowing that anything could go wrong with my tattoo at any given time is scary.
I have a very good pain tolerance, so that isn't my worry, but anyone have any tips during the process and after to make everything "better"? I am getting the tattoo on my left pec if that helps.

Stay still, don't twitch. Harder than it sounds even with good pain tolerance. Take care of it well after it is done.

I am scared I am going to fuck him up by pec popping lol. After going to the gym religiously, even the simplest move of my arm causes my pec to pop. I hope that when he does it the pain won't cause it to.

If you're getting barbedwire or a tribal tattoo, your pec will know the importance and not pop.

I always wanted to get down, df, forward + P logo down the back of my arm but explaining that to bitches would probably hurt me in the long run

Pointing out the fucking obvious, don't take any aspirin before you go. Paracetemol and painkillers are fine, but anything that thins your blood is just plain dense. Its worth investing in some decent aftercare product to rub on your tat as it heals. I think yanks have a cream called Neosporin or something, don't use it. Vaseline shouldn't be used either, if you catch a germ under it then it can fuck your tat right up. They should sell a specially designed aftercare product in the parlour you get it done in ( I fucking love the smell of tattoo goo). Apart from that just sit back and enjoy it chap, it's actually a surprisingly peaceful experience. It's nice to fully focus on the one area they are doing the tat and everything else just kinda drifts out of your mind.

That's the tattoo I am getting, only both men are black, and their dicks are obviously bigger. How did you know?

This is the exact opposite experience I and my friends with tattoo's had. The line doesn't hurt because it is fresh skin when they do the filler they go back over already wounded areas and it is quite painful. Also when they go over bones is rough too like when they went over my spine it hurt.

Also make sure to be really well hydrated when you go in. Make sure you eat a small snack and drink plenty of water before hand. It will help you out. It wasn't too painful for me when I got my tattoo or at least I could live through the pain but I started sweating a lot and we had to take a break in the middle so I could eat something and drink some water.

That was my experience. The outline was the only time it hurt at all, when he started the color it was over quickly. The outline is the only time there was any blood also.

Bring some soda or juice, basically a drink high in sugar, it always helps. If the tattoo is going to reach your rib/side area it's going to hurt a bit. The best way to describe tattoo pain is imagine: a cat licking a battery while scratching you, not lethal but it's a bit of a sting. After your 7th or 8th tattoo the buzz won't hurt anymore lol, just to tell you they get addicting and you'll want more asap(at least that was my case). So far my back/ calf is done, and I started my sleeves lol, fun stuff I'll post pics soon.

This is all shit they'll go over when you're done (or before)

You'll have a bandage over the tattoo which which will be able to come off after 1-2 hours (may vary on size? not sure but thats how it was for my tats.) After that you'll wash it lightly with a little soap and warm water. You'll see some of the color look like its bleeding off after: this is natural, dont panic (excess ink). Again, gentle with the soap and water. Pat the area dry very lightly after washing. After that, I used A+D ointment over the tat, a very light coating of it.

You will do this about 4 times a day for the first 3-4 days after getting the tat. After that you wont need the soap and water anymore aside from your regular washing routing (unless you're a dirty bastard?) Keep using the A+D ointment around 4 times a day for the first week or so. After that I would still use the ointment once in the morning and again before i go to bed for about another 2 weeks.

For during, just relax is the best advice I can give. Try to have a little something in your stomach beforehand. The place I went to a few times lets you put your ipod into a dock to listen to music while its getting done, helps to relax. The pain is not bad, its a mild annoyance. I honestly dont think 'flexing' would be much of a problem. The more painful tats are ones that get done closer to the bone, like around the wrists or on the tops of your feet (only tats I've seen done that looked painful, my exgf got stuff done to the tops of her feet which she was in agonizing pain for, although she may have been a wimp) The pec area shouldnt be too painful I imagine.

Dont a lot of tattoo shops carry that "tattoo goo" stuff also? Get some of that if you dont have that ointment

Used the same ointment, worked great. After a while the top layer will appear to start pealing off in little pieces. DON'T PICK AT IT.

Wrist tattoo was the worst for me. Inside wrist with the veins and shit, not a pleasant experience lol
