Getting my first tattoo

I would have understood if it was on his side or some place tender. Dude was getting a sun tattoo on his calf.

My calf tattoo hurt worse than my other ones, and by a LOT. I got my last name done in Old English, and it was a bad 2 hours. For me anyway, the more muscle I have in a spot, the worse the pain was.

you live in cold temp? Mine lifts when my skin is cold or super dry (usually cuz of cold weather). So in winter i have to lotion it up everyday. non-sceneted, yadyadya.

It doesn't matter what season, or how dry it is...it's always lifted in spots. I'll go to a doctor sometime soon. Thanks for the advice!

Why would it? Getting a tat of something you believe in or associate strongly with is way better than something like getting a lover's name as a tat. (I say this as an atheist)

He said the body is the temple, twisting that to mean that you can't get a tattoo is like saying you can't paint the walls of your church.

If you're going to quote the bible at least use the KJV, most of the paraphrased versions make shit sound totally different (Hell, even the KJV does it from the older hebrew versions):

No it doesn't really, he never even said it was a Christian tattoo or that he himself is Christian. And marking or cutting yourself for the dead sounds quite different than getting a religious tattoo anyways. That verse is about pagan mourning rites.

I went to both a Catholic elementary/high school, and spoke to a many priest/minister about this such issue (I am atheist, just to get my bias out of the way); and every one said tattoos/piercings were not against Christianity.

Remember, the "laws" of the Bible (such as the one you've quoted) are pretext for a specific time period relating to their cultural norms. You may certainly not interpret those same rules as "God's word" in this year and age.
