Havnt really read the entire thread, but w/e you do, don't get a Tattoo of the "Sharingan" LOL some older BG posters will remember that haha
Sooo a whole thread on this tattoo yet still no picture.
It's a religious tattoo, so if you want this to turn into 10 pages of why you shouldn't get a religious tattoo, then I will post it lol.
Contradiction! The Lord says one shall not ruin the natural body he gave us, then you go and get a tattoo or jesus or a cross or some religious shit, the irony is scrumptous
Think that line was towards piercings wasn't it?
“Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD” (Leviticus 19:28).
If you're going to quote the bible at least use the KJV, most of the paraphrased versions make shit sound totally different (Hell, even the KJV does it from the older hebrew versions):
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD
my point still stands.
No it doesn't really, he never even said it was a Christian tattoo or that he himself is Christian. And marking or cutting yourself for the dead sounds quite different than getting a religious tattoo anyways. That verse is about pagan mourning rites.
I went to both a Catholic elementary/high school, and spoke to a many priest/minister about this such issue (I am atheist, just to get my bias out of the way); and every one said tattoos/piercings were not against Christianity.
Remember, the "laws" of the Bible (such as the one you've quoted) are pretext for a specific time period relating to their cultural norms. You may certainly not interpret those same rules as "God's word" in this year and age.
