The greatest limitation of human consciousness is that we cannot know the minds of other human beings. If you recall them later on, it's statistically more likely that the memory is a complete fabrication than a genuine experience that you had, and if it was actually genuine then the memory is almost guaranteed to be full of errors. To that end, each time you recall a memory you introduce new error. Every major event in your life, every kiss, every passionate embrace, every meaningful phrase deteriorates each time you bring it up, gets a little fuzzier, gets a little less genuine.

Everything you think you know, all the beliefs that you cherish, and all of the people that you love are the fleeting product of chemical reactions in a rapidly decaying nervous system. Your physical body peaked at age 19. It's all downhill from here.
