Have to also pick one of the kings that doesn't dispel or absorb your buffs (I forget what the other 2 do).
I'll see if I can find it, but a PLD/RDM (At least I think it was /RDM) soloed it without an aegis. They whored out in PDT gear and let the scorps feed them TP for atonement spammage.
EDIT: http://killingifrit.com/forums/topic...st__p__3830018
Few meds and other things and a WHM mule giving him haste outside.
So it should be stupidly simple for me and said RDM friend to go in (me as PLD/RDM) and split them?
Usually Can do WHM RDM NIN SAMx3 on RR,NIN kites pld and sometimes other queen while sams burn down the other queen, repeat as needed. Can usually bind other queen in a nice spot to buy time, night time movement helps alot but not dire to have.
Bring 7 people for RR, two of same job as extra. Instead of waiting 20min for run around you just swap people in / out and save like 1 hour of waiting time.
20 minutes, what the hell? You can exit and get back into Balga Dais before the pool even clears...
I never really liked Atonement when soling ODS. With decent gear Vorpal Blade does a lot of damage to the scorps and since you arent focusing on a lot of hate moves (and youre taking some decent damage), it takes a bit to max out atonement damage on the scorps. Toward the end of each scorp its ok, but I didnt find it making the fight much easier.
I can see it being done without Aegis, remember Aegis just adds about 10% less DoT recieved (physical), it doesnt make you invincible.. The fight is just about MP management.
Magic doesn't effect them in my experience. I have casting everything on them, even nukes and have not seen them rage. The only time I see them rage is when we take too long to kill after they initiated their 2hr. Usually after a wipe or so.
That's the main issue I see with ODS Atonement. However since I'm usually cautious soloing I'd rather do Atonement then risk gear swapping, but that's just me.
I used to do RR with a static on BLM, holding the WHM auto as BLM (all I had back then). I'd claim it with Stun every time, it never raged. We always got RDM king for whatever reason though... NIN held it /DNC while DDs picked off the other queen and then the WHM one. Only time I ever remember it raging was our first or second run. Only things that comes to mind that we never did again were the use of Desperate Flourish and I think a Fragmentation skillchain went off at some point.
For that, I dont need much acc since they are all like decent challenges. I use:
Head: Heca head.
Body: Ares (Hauby+1 is better but I sold that a while back since I rarely Vorpal now with atonement).
Hands: Heca.
Legs: Valor (ares/heca are better, but dont have them lol).
Feet: Heca.
Waist: Warewolf
Back: Foragers.
Neck: Soil
Earrings: Suppa/Brutal
Rings: Usually use acc here because I'm eating tacos for the fight so dont have extra acc from food.
Areas to improve on that set: Haub+1 would be better, Heca legs or Ares legs, Rajas/mars/whatever.
Joytoy ofcourse.
Vorpal usually does more than atonement throughout the fight.
I keep bio on the current target, start by diaging the rest. Sometimes break away to rebuff when their feet get stuck in the ground. I dont bother keeping SS up unless I have time to break away and recover for 20 or so seconds. I dont bother with ice spikes legs.
Chivalry rocks the fight ofcourse. You need to be careful with parade gorget though, as you wont be topped off for most of the fight, so you need to judge whether it is prudent to keep it on or switch to shield torque or acc based neck slot.
I use taco, regen/refresh drinks, and usually pop chivalry about half way through the fight. Sentinel/rampart/etc at start so its up and available/used as often as possible through the fight. You get TP pretty fast with all 6 up and pounding on you, so the first couple should die pretty fast. Reprisal is also pretty sweet for the fight![]()
and how can you guarantee this? I have casted every spell on them while tanking and not tanking as a RDM and they did not rage. I have casted bliz3, bio2, poison2 etc. Ninja/drk tanked one and casted stun, absorbs and nothing happened.
There are so many superstitions surrounding this fight its unreal. I have even went with a guy who said you can't skillchain them lol. As far as I know the rage is tied to their 2hr's.
You are full of shit, the PLD cardian becomes extremely evasive and takes almost no damage if you sapm spells on it. The very first run I did it took forever to kill it because someone casted dia/flash or w/e.
Anyway. If you want to waste your seals solo or duo ods, that's fairly easy with melee+DD. If you want money do RR, that's 250k+chance of a second ingot per run, and ODS doesn't come close. RR is trioable with a good RDM/WAR, MNK/BLU, RDM/WHM. A second melee makes it easy.
