I truly enjoyed watching him struggle to move only 75 lbs lol.
On topic, if performance legitimately holds up that is definitely a holy shit.

I remember a similar fanless case done like about a decade ago, I think it was zalman that made it. It was a case that you would need specific motherboards and gfx cards since the heat pipes were not really bendable. It wasn't super amazing but then I don't think they ever tried again.
Here it is:

Yeah, pentium 4 era lol.
That Calyos case though needs some casters like the zalman with that weight lol.
That shit is ridiculous.
However if it's only a $500 premium over retail component price and they're building the system? That's actually pretty tempting.
I mean, I just paid close to 200 for my case due to it having tempered glass. I would gladly pay $500 considering I also dropped $100 on cables lol.
HE said you buy the case and just add your compnents to it, i would image just striping cooler off gpu and attaching build in gpu block to it. and so on. Wouldnt ever need a new case.
but there isnt a mention as to how long the cooling gas or w/e it is lasts, if it degrades or evaporates slowly after years.

Intel Core i7-6700K 8M Skylake Quad-Core 4.0 GHz LGA 1151 91W BX80662I76700K Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 530
$299.99 for 9 more hours from the time of this post. Normal price is $369.
That's a pretty damn good price on the 6700K. It still represents quite a price premium over an i5 6600K though.
Microcenter has them @ $259 for walk-in pricing

Hey:
Pondering on getting a new laptop. Previous one was a $500 refurb from Tiger Direct from back in..2011 I think. 15 inch laptop, not overly heavy. Had a dedicated graphics card and was good enough to run ARR and output to my TV. Ran photoshop and a few other Adobe things (Captivate) on it.
Mostly used as a work computer, but I liked having the option to do some gaming stuff.
Anyone have suggestions for a new one, or at the very least, when I should be looking out for a deal?
Most important starting points to help you out:
1) Budget?
2) What sorts of games do you want to play on what resolution? This should take into account whether this is just a backup + an on-the-road gaming rig, or if you want it to be a desktop replacement.
1) Trying to keep it in the $500-$1000 range. Don't mind going slightly higher if there's a meaningful upgrade there.
2) Mostly a lot of RPGs that aren't TOO intensive. The Last Remnant, FFXIV, the Witcher, and the older Dragon Age games seemed to run fine on it. Resolution escapes me, sorry; was a decently high one.
Not looking for a Desktop replacement just yet since the one I built a few years back is still going pretty strong.
dont want desktop?
Difference between a decent laptop with a 960m and a 1060 is around $400-$500, where 1060 deals seem to bottom out at around $1000-$1100 and 960m deals are around $600-$700. That said, a laptop with a 1060 will crush just about any other previous gen laptop gpu in performance (that 1060 is just a very slightly underclocked desktop card, they're that good on power usage).
Refurb machines with 960m though can be a good deal cheaper, but there's always a risk doing this. Check dell, hp, lenovo, etc, outlet sites for refurbs, the price drop might be worth it if you're really not looking to spend a lot. Though, to be honest, I'd probably wait and save up for one with a 1060. https://slickdeals.net/deals/compute...=newest&page=1 is a good starting spot to look for deals and comments (read specs like a hawk).
If the gap between a 960m and 1060 is that large, I don't really mind spending the extra money. Thank you -- that's precisely what I meant when I said if it was a meaningful upgrade, I wouldn't mind going higher. I lucked out with my refurb and it ended up being a good deal more powerful than I thought once I tweaked it.
I'll check slick deals -- thanks! But if you have a particular laptop with a 1060 that you think is a good buy, I'm all ears.
Hey guys, I also had a question about getting a new laptop. Have a lot of downtime working overnight and wanted a laptop to my backlog of games/slight emulation.
I was looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834234297 seemed like it could run most new releases/stuff from 2015 pretty easily but my main question is what the deal is with 1060 vs 1070 in laptops. I see the reviews in a lot of the newegg products are more negative for 1070 vs 1060. Is it better to just stick with 1060 when dealing with laptops? I haven't kept up much with laptops, just mainly upgrade my desktop so I am a bit behind.
Edit: Is it mainly a cooling issue so sticking to 1060 in laptop is best?
Gaming laptops are never worth it.

This one's sale ends soon, but be sure to read through the thread for more opinions on it or potential alternate deals/ideas. There's a couple low reviews on newegg on this one, but it's among the better potential deals with a 1060 in it.
Honestly, I would get a laptop to be portable and actually have decent battery life. 15.6" is an upper limit in terms of carrying it around in my case (13.3/14" is nicer to carry), and the 1060 is currently their lowest end 10-series in laptops (performs around a desktop 970, usually slightly worse) until the 1050/ti comes out, in which case any laptop with a 1050/ti will be superior in battery life and lower heat without giving up a whole lot for it (1050 is a really great sweet spot in cost/perf/heat/battery).
Go for one with a 1070 if you've got cash to burn and will have it plugged in most of the time. Might also consider getting a laptop cooler, something that raises it off the table a little bit with a fan underneath to help with heat.
edit: derped on comparison of 1060 vs desktop 970 (they're close)
