Recognizing gfx drivers.

My friend has a 8800 GTS that he's had for quite some time now. Recently he got an error message of some sort and took it upon himself to try and 'fix' it. Well apparently I think he uninstalled his drivers and now he can't get his computer to recognize when he reinstalls.

Whenever he loads up his computer it's like his computer has no drivers AT ALL not even onboard because when you scroll down on a website page it's super laggy. Nothing runs, he doesn't have an onboard VGA slot for his monitor and on the settings for his monitor it says "DEFAULT MONITOR" instead of his "8800 GTS nvidia bullshit"

So he's uninstalled and reinstalled drivers about 900 times to no avail.

The only advice I could tell him was to uninstall the drivers and switch his graphics card's pci-e slot to another slot and try installing then.

Anyone else have any feedback?

if it was working for a while and then suddenly has a driver error, unless he changed some software, that sounds like the card crashed. if possible, test it in another computer too
